You typically want like devices to do Link Aggregation.

So you would have multiple switches with Link Aggregation between them.

Not typically between your switch and your PC. And particularly not with 100Mb. You can go buy an Entire Gigabit switch for bugger all now which will help a lot more.

Plus if you do want to hook up machines, you'll want something like the Intel Pro cards which support 802.ad, and hoping your switch uses that protocol as a standard and not some other home grown LAG.

Then obviously you want multiple Intel cards to multiple ports on your switch.

Seriously easier to just go buy a Gigabit switch, and a Gigbit card if you really want to get higher speeds.

Trust me as someone who manages networks and servers. Go get a Gigabit switch, and a Gigabit card.

No, a gigabit switch is like £14 and a gigabit pci-e card is £4, hardly bank breaking.

This.

You don't need another Router or Modem.

You buy a cheap Gigabit switch. You plug it into your Router and then plug your PC's etc into that.

Your internal traffic gets nice fast speeds.

What..........the...........hell is that.

You can still just buy a cheap Gigbit Ethernet and plug it in, and make sure all your internal devices are plugged into the Gigabit switch.

You'll unlikely be needing to replace it because you'll never be getting more than 100Mb externally through your Router/Modem Frankenstein thing.
