Great card, but the real question is the retail price. The price for the 6900 series was underestimated at launch. Over 550 euro for this card I'm not sure how worth it will be.
Maybe the 7950 will be a great deal.

Very decent performance across the board form the 7970.
It squarely beats the 580 in most titles, and beats it by quite a margin in some.
People stating 'is it worth the money?' - well, if you consider its the same price as the 580 give or take, yet is a good bit faster, well then yes. Of course, you'd have to consider if the 580 is worth the money too in that regard...
If the 7950 can firmly beat the 570 across the board, it will sell a truck load, especially if its at the $/€300 price mark.

I get what most of you guys say about it not beating the 580 by far, but i look at it from another angle.
Remember this card is replacing the 6970, and if you look at the performance increase from the 6970 to the 7970 then it is more than impressive..
And with a beta driver, it can only get better..
If the 7850 is going to increase as much over the 6850 as this card did over the 6970 it replaces then i already know my next upgrade is.

The 78xx series will sell very well I'd say.
And it IS faster than the GTX 580, and by quite a margin in some cases, and its about the same price.

Not sure about it being the same price as a GTX580, i can pick up a 580 for £360, don't see the 7970 being that cheap, well not for a few months anyway.
