Worth just taking the OGL DLLS out of these to use in Rage (so i can keep my BF3 tweaked drivers installed)?

Also is it just the atioglxx.dll we need?

This is probably just tweaks specifically for the IDtech5 engine scaling...

There are no controls over quality ingame, the engine is supposed to scale to best quality @60fps

Just putting opengl driver in the RAGE dir works fine, so you don't have to reinstall (im using 11.10 bf3). Rage has gonna from total ****e to super smooth on my 6990

The texture loading problems are actually innate to the game engine. The engine unloads textures that you are not looking at, and reloads them when you look there. It was done to improve performance on consoles. You dont notice it as much because you can't look around as quickly with a controller.

I don't think it will ever be "fixed" for PC. At best, people will figure out ways to make it less noticeable... or find graphical tweaks that manage to get around the engine's retardedness.

So my question is... I have the 11.10 drivers installed right now. Should I Just install this over what I have? Or do a uninstall\driver-sweep and then install these new drivers?

I have no idea what you just said. How did you put "the opengl driver" in the rage directory?

Would be good if someone could extract the OGL files only.
I know we can place them in game folder, but would be nice to have an updated version of OGL globally + BF3 D3D drivers...

Is it only atioglxx.dll or any other files ?

not to go to far off topic but it seems the texture pop-in is the game not caching(spelling?) correctly, almost like it's streaming textures directly from the hd and not memory. I can't see any engineer from ID or otherwise thinking its a good idea to stream textures from the slowest available source. To test look straight for a couple seconds, hd activity will go to almost none, turn in circles and the hd will be active. I don't know whether this is a patch-able engine problem or not. I will say one thing. I am using a flash drive in ready boost config and it is using the heck out of that. Pop in seems slightly better also(could simply be placebo)

You don't even need to do this - just put it in the game folder (if you only want it to take affect for Rage)
