I've just got an HTC Desire HD... so you reckon PowerAmp is worth trying? I think there's a free trial offer. The trouble is that the volume using the inherent player on thr desire seems too low.. and I am not a volume freak! What can boost the volume?

PowerAMP's equalizer leftmost slider is "preamp". I have it all the way to the top and it's loud!. You'd have to try it on your hardware to know for sure anyway, so go with the trial version here:

Thanks once again Doug

Yeah, great equalizer that actually works, just installed poweramp this morning, stuck on some Metallica - creeping death, sounds amazing with the equalizer!

Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm just looking for a simple player similar to the stock one, buy I don't care for album covers. Bigger buttons would be nice on fullscreen.

yeah i've gotten very used to poweramp, well worth the couple bucks imo. intuitive, attractive (especially the widgets), good eq/preamp, lots of options for things like que'd playlists and playing tracks straight from folders. The only thing it's lacking is a lock screen player like my default player has

Hmm, my lock screen has has play/pause, forward and back at the bottom that works with every music player I've tried so far

I'm currently trying Winamp, works good so far. RealPlayer works quite well surprisingly (shocker, I know!)

Anyone know if this is a good buy?

Started using Google's Music Beta recently just to have access to my entire substantial music library on the go. I wish they'd release an API to allow app makers to interact with the service 'cause the default Music Beta interface is a steaming turd. I'd give my left arm to be able to use it with Ubermusic.

OK, after trying and LIKING PowerAmp, i had a look at PlayerPro......WOW WOW WOW.... really really good!!

Really nice to look at, and the sound seems really crisp and rich. It has the usual stuffs and a pretty good EQ, well worth a look... this is so far my favourite Music App

You can also edit everything from the app, ie artworks, you can download new etc, change the tags blah blah blah blah.... go look, go look now!!!!!

That is all

Ya it's great, but the DSPPack seems to have a memory leak issue that I found but the developer is so far blaming it's a problem with my phone >.>"

i just uninstalled the DSP pack, I loose the reverb and widening settings with it, although the EQ is greater, sound is identical for me though..

Hope it gets sorted, and i hope the dev continues to support this app as it is great

Songs sounds better with the DSPPack to be honest, but that leak is really pesky, caused my phone to crash (like the whole phone) because it ran out of RAM due to the leak >.>"

Using PowerAMP here. Agree, for me PowerAMP is excellent player, mainly because u can set the equaliser, preamp slider which is handy, and almost all format can be played Worth buying the full version for 5 bucks.

On a side note: Just update my PowerAMP to version 2.0, damn the sound getting better. Slicker look and some added features. What does the StereoX do? Tried messing up with it, looks like it makes the music sounds hollow lol Bigger screen on lock screen as well, like it
