ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and 16gb memory -

Hi all,
I'm about to build a new workstation setup with an Intel i7 2600K sandy bridge and an ASUS P8P67 DELUXE mobo. ASUS only lists approved memory up to 8gb, but I'd like to run 16gb (4x4gb).
Any recommendations?

The board supports up to 32GB of memory, using 8GB modules.
I presume you're talking about tested memory rather than supported though?
Any 1x4GB or 2x4GB modules mentioned in the tested document should work and give you 16GB when running 4 I suppose. I'm using two cheap-ass Kingston PC10600 4GB modules and they work perfectly fine.
I'd make sure to pick modules that don't go past 1.5V@1333MHz though, the way I understand it the memory controller is a bit more picky when running 4 modules and it's only specced to handle as much.

I've been looking at the following:
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
maybe I should go with 1333
edit: I'm building a 3D workstation with an SSD, so I'd like the faster memory.

There's only 1 on the QVL at 1600MHz
A-DATA AX3U1600GC4G9-2G
and 4 1333 QVL's listed wtih a 4gb size
A-DATA SU3U1333C4G9-B
G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
SAMSUNG M378B5273BH1-CH9
SAMSUNG M378B5273CH0-CH9
Should I stick with 4 of these?
There are none in any of the faster sticks...

although the board is listed as support 32gb of memory, it wont do it out of the box. most/all manufacturers at the moment have a little note saying 'a bios update will be provided when 8gb sticks are readily available' or something like that.
and i dont think he'd have issues running higher spec'd ram.
@OP - im running that exact same corsair memory kit, lol. if it works for my asrock board, i dont see why it wouldnt work for an asus board. asus boards are generally better with memory support.

If you could get the sticks from a local dealer, letting him know about what you intend, I suppose that would be ideal. As in, should worst come to worst you'd be able to switch to another brand without going through online customer support/mail etc.
Luckily it seems you have a few other options now, going by the other posters experiences.
That said, if you can get the recommended modules for a reasonable price it's not a bad idea. My experience, going by local dealers/e-tailers, is that ASUS only tests the most obscure memory modules they can find.

Probably not, no.
I wouldn't risk it myself though, not with 4 sticks anyway, since it's a bother replacing the memory modules.

I'm running an ASUS P8P67 Revolution with 16gb Vengeance 4x4gb ~1600mhz. It overclocks to ~1866mhz very easily and on to ~2100mhz if you can spare the time.

I'm running the Vengeance sticks in my Deluxe @ 1600mhz no problem.
Set it to use the xmp profile in the bios and manually select 1600mhz and 1.5v.
