Hm, I may wait til the 16:10 patch happens then, possibly. I want my experience to be the absolute best, I should wait for the proper drives and wait til it's patched up.

Thoughts on The Witcher 2 by 2 editors from PC gamer....I'm guessing that one of the reviewer's is the one who reviewed the 1st Witcher and gave it a 69% and the same guy gave DA 2 94%.......Hmm suspicious!! Anyway I dont even bother listening to most reviewers, instead I rate the game on my own experience .
Quote:
Tom Francis – The Witcher 2
Which I can’t talk about. I was not a huge fan of the first one – the world seemed nice, but I hated who I was playing, the dialogue was malfunctioning all over the place, and I don’t like games where women throw themselves at me – it always seems like such a sad thing to fantasise about. But Rich Cobbett keeps enthusing about the second one, so I’m keeping an open mind for that.
Richard Cobbett – The Witcher 2
It’s one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year, so obviously it would be grossly mean of me to sit here, smugly patting the review code and looking forward to getting back home tonight and get back to hacking monsters with a silver sword/wooing sexy sorceresses. So far, I’m having much better luck attracting the first than the second. Art mirrors life, I guess.
It’s definitely not a perfect game – for all the Polish polish and obvious love and attention that’s gone into it, it’s an RPG with more than its fair share of rough edges, but I’ve been having a great time with it so far. Can’t say much more than that right now for all the usual pesky embargo reasons, but look out for the review… oooh… real soon.

I'm more curious of how they will go about the proper 16:10 support, ideally it would be expanding 16:9, but considering its a last minute addition, it could end up being cropped 16:9.
Driver wise, Nvidia already have a profile, and they have been working with CDP on this game for months, so while new drivers would be nice, i think the existing ones should be ok.
AMD guys i don't know, probably end up in the same boat as Nvidia guys with Dragon Age 2, Shogun 2 etc....
I agree with some of the complaints of Witcher, i wasn't a fan of the overuse of sex either, felt like was aimed at teenagers etc...but i might be getting old too soon lol.

First trailer, epic music, epic trailer.
Second trailer, beautiful music, beautiful trailer.
Third trailer, great looking combat, with a large variety accents from the North to the South, and a Scottish(ish) one thrown in at the end
All good though, looking awesome, and considering i hate medieval RPG's of any sort, the fact these games break the mould is a suprisingly good thing for me, i don't even have much love for Polish people either lol, but these guys are fantastic at what they do.

My GAME pre-order has not shipped yet and they don't generally send stuff out across the weekend so it looks like it won't hit the post while Monday with a Tuesday delivery day. I was hoping to get it for Monday so I could install it and have it ready to try at midnight. Oh well.
On a more positive note, I didn't realise I'd ordered the Premium Edition which comes with a generous selection of (mostly) useful extras such as a strategy guide, map and audio CD. Less useful is the coin but at least it's small and can easily be stored.

Considering it is costing me just £22.49, I have to say that I'm pleased I didn't go down the more expensive digital download route. While you can print out the map and manual (at a lower quality), just try printing out a metal coin!!!
Seems that all you get for the extra £45 it costs for the Collector's Edition is a surprisingly small bust, an extra coin, a set of playing cards and an admittedly nice hardbacked art book inside an oversized cardboard box. Not worth the asking price though IMO.

Nah, definetly not worth the extra asking costs.
I was looking at the premium edition in Gamestation earlier on, and while i normally hate retail versions, this one seemed tempting, especially the CD soundtrack and the map, and when it comes to games like this, a proper large map is a good addition, so will probably try and pick this up in a few months time.
The coin sounds like a good souveir also, and could be a nice addition to my real life coins from round the world.

DLC details.
(Of which there will be a decent number though the plan is for it to be free and then make proper expansions as the stuff you pay for.)

Yeah, that's all I ask.
DLC should always be free. I like expansion packs @ 20$, that usually add at least 1/3rd of the original games worth of content.
Also, there are no commercials for this game. Can you imagine if it had them? It'd probably get probably 50,000 more pre-orders.
No game store I was visiting at my local mall had this game though, oh well.

Ok, CD Projekt, you know you're a relatively new studio, right? With only one major title on your roster, you're putting BioWare to shame with this. TO SHAME!
This looks so much better than DA and will probably be better than DA:2.
BioWare, this is how you make a RPG, you take time, you craft the world, you give us lots of graphical options n whatnot.
DA looks like **** and runs worse.

No, I don't have it til Monday.
But I just figured I'd update it before I forgot. Hell, I didn't update I had W7 til just today and I've had it for over a year now, lol, I'm bad with updating my specs, so I did it prematurely.
However, the GTX470 is rated to be 50% faster than my 280, I imagine with the 15% OC I do, it will be even better.

GoG version is also available for 45$ if you use the US region selection (As per their forums and recent news update about not restriction such choice.) or about 60 Euro with two coupons you will receive to redeem one 9.99 game and one 5.99 game for free if you pay full price.
(I did it anyway to support them.)
