Duke and Sam, both in the same year! mindless killing, my favorite type of shooter next to a good military shooter.

lol, I think I had 1053 saves in "The second encounter".

Serious Sam is meant to be played on serious just so you can laugh at how ridiculously over the top the enemies are. I remember groaning as I got chased around in circles by something like a thousand+ frogs in the first game. Then there's like 20 freaking mechanoids firing a massive barrage of rockets while you're chased by a hundred skeletal bulls.

They look good, but I liked the Serious Sam 2 kamikaze guys the best. The bomb on a spring bouncing around while they were screaming at you was hilarious.

Debut trailer. (and people wanted to doubt the first screenshots)

Also, interview with Croteam. Thought some might like this bit....

Quote:
IGN: Was there any discussion about adding shooter mechanics like a cover system or regenerative health to the game, or would that be blasphemous?

Roman Ribaric: Cover system??? Regenerating health??? You can't be Serious!

IGN: It does look like aim down the sights made it in.

Roman Ribaric: Yes, aiming works really well - for those weapons where we put it in. We wanted to give more power and at the same time more precision at distance to some weapons, yet didn't want to ruin their balance in relation to other weapons. This really worked very well. It is not something completely new for the series, though. You probably recall Serious Sam: The Second Encounter's Sniper Rifle which even had adjustable zoom factor.
Quote:
IGN: Release date and platforms?

Roman Ribaric: Summer 2011 for PC with other platforms following after that.

We are a small team and we do all the platforms ourselves. We figured out that handling all those complicated mumbo-jumbos of console development is really just an unreasonable way to add more delay to a game release. So we decided to concentrate on shipping a good game for the PC first, then catch up with the consoles afterwards. Not to say we put consoles completely aside. Xbox 360 versions of Serious Sam 3, e.g., are automatically built every day. But the bulk of the work involved with pushing it through the bureaucracy needed to actually ship it might add months to the release date. And the players are waiting...

Serious Sam 3 To Feature 4-Player Splitscreen

The fans, they demanded of Croteam that Serious Sam 3: BFE feature four-player splitscreen play. And so it came to pass. RPS can exclusively reveal that the forthcoming ultro-shooter will allow you to gather around a PC monitor with your chums and FIGHT. Up to three gamepads can be used alongside one mouse and keyboard to have four-player multiplayer and co-op. You can see full-size screens below.

This accompanies the game’s extraordinary offer of 16-player co-op across via internet play, and provides a rather pleasing contrast to some other publishers when it comes to taking care of PC gamers. Croteam lead programmer Alen Ladavac says,

“Serious Sam games are known for frantic campaign coop and multiplayer modes so we wanted to make sure that Serious Sam 3: BFE dials up the chaos even more with local split screen co-op at launch. Serious Sam fans have been very vocal on the Facebook fan page and the forums about split screen modes so we wanted to make sure we exceeded their expectations.”

Then publisher Devolver’s Fork Parker goes on to explain what else this feature offers players, in his own distinctive style:

• Visual identification of opponents allows for more accurate racial and gender slurs during Deathmatch and Capture the Flag games.

• Close proximity allows for unwanted sexual advances towards opponents without fear of reprisal due to their fear of losing the lead in Team Deathmatch.

• Leon’s mom usually walks around the house in these ridiculously short shorts that show the very edge of her butt. Seriously dude, you should see these things.

Parker goes on to point out that this feature means fewer copies will need to be sold.

“These Serious Sam nerds need to get a job and pay for their own copy of Serious Sam 3: BFE. We’re losing a ton of cash on this little split screen feature. By the way, do they make split screen adult films? Watching four at once would save me a lot of time in the shower. ****, don’t print that.”
