I am playing out on my dual core system with my 5670 and the frame rate is 150-300 all the time, its moving so fast its unplayable, unless i record and well its capped at 50. Any ideas or do i have to record all the time to enjoy it?

Enable (or force) v-sync and the game will be capped to your display/TV's refresh rate, which is usually 60 fps.

outrun 2006?! I got also too fast. ;)
this game has limit maximum 60fps = realtime = normal motion. therefore, you must change to 60Hz (vertical frequency) and to enable VSYNC for to prevent too fast and to get pure-smooth. ;) :D

Try restricting the game to use one CPU core..

Deus Ex has the same problem unless it's restricted to a single core.

No need to fling names around now ricardo. Pill was just offering a suggestion.

But yea forcing V-sync was probably the best solution as it will cap your frames to the refresh rate. I remember that's what they had to do for SF4 or people with high-end setups would be moving at such an incredible rate.

Try using pmtimer or hpet. Hpet is set in the BIOS and pmtimer can be enabled on win xp or 7 by using the boot.ini (xp) or bcdedit.

    • add /usepmtimer in the boot.ini
    • open cmd and type 'bcdedit /set useplatformclock true'

Not sure if this will resolve the problem, but I had similar problems on older games and this fixed it. It's best to use pmtimer imo, hpet causes unwanted delays.

It's not solved, enabling v-sync is a half-assed solution. What if people don't want vsync did you ever think about that?

    Oh and... infinity

until 60fps on outrun has NOT problem!! you do NOT need too high fps because you get tearing (with or without too fast). you NEED enable vsync for to HAVE pure-smooth.
you remember that we play game (except 25 or 30fps) on arcade machine (most in bar) or watch TV running VSYNC enabled (50Hz or 60Hz) for pure-smooth. :D lool

I have a funny feeling the /usepmtimer switch doesn't apply to Windows 7....

Anybody know what the **** he just said?

Outrun2006 with Vsync solves the problem indeed but if you want to slow the game further use Mo'Slo, it's a program that i've been using for ages, pretty useful (not free though).
