Default Samsung LED TV and GTX 480 problems - 11-25-2010, 23:48 | posts: 6 | Location: Australia

So i recently bought a new 40" LED tv. My plan was to be able to hook up my computer via an DVI to HDMI cable to the screen so i can watch movies but when i do hook it up to the second DVI connector (first one is used for my computer monitor) and try run @ 1080 in the nvidia control panel i get an error on my samsung LED tv saying the signal or format or something is not supported. i can only run it @ 1600 x 1200.

Any ideas?

Try and hook it up via the Mini HDMI port ...

How long is your cable for the LED ???

Go into the menu, and change in the settings source list, change the connection to dvi pc... btw, what model Samsung LED is it???

then it should work.

I had a similar problem with my Samsung LED TV. I'm not sure if it was due to a bad hdmi cable or a loose connection in the tv but I could move the hdmi plug side to side and certain resolutions would work while others didn't. In the end I got sick of the "unsupported mode" message and used a VGA cable. I don't notice any difference in picture quality and now the TV goes into standby if it doesn't detect a signal which is nice.
