1) 120Hz and fast responding pixels to prevent light bleed between the eyes, they arent necessarily in the same package.
2) very debatable
3) 120Hz, LED backlit (not available yet), not a TN (not available yet), bigger than 24" (not available yet)
Also worth considering/waiting for: glasses free (requires very hi-res screens to keep the angular res up)
4) Good shutter glasses compatible with the display you have, good 3D Driver (Nvidias is pretty good, ATI = non existent except for Blu Ray), good in game support for 3D to get objects placed correctly, good setup/configuration skills especially for those non perfect games.
Good bezel management for non edge to edge screens.
A lot of power, which you have.
Plenty of time to tweak.

Theres inevitably more, thats the basics.

Well, the best bezel management is to use 3 projectors. Got money for remodeling?

Didn't want to start up a new thread but wanted to ask a question or two. I'm guessing the answer is no, however.

Is it currently possible to buy, for example, a 50" LCD TV with 120hz or 200hz or whatever they go up to, and stick it together with 3d Vision goggles and nVidia card?

Is there a better way to do it?

EDIT: Oh and if not, is it likely to become an option as drivers improve?

I don't want to use a tiny monitor, I want a lovely huge TV d=)

Currently there are no true 120Hz (or higher) 1080p TVs that I have heard of.
The current 3D TVs are 60hz input and use a checkerboard pattern so each eye receives half the resolution.
So its a moot point for now.
Its better to revisit the compatibility topic when they arrive.

Haha and a mortgage to buy 3x 1080p 3D projectors.
When I looked 1/2 year ago, they were US $10,000 each !!

So the price of a nice, new car - and what's that car going to do for you? Take you back and forth to work every day? Maybe take you to the grocery store every now and then? Ugh. Wouldn't you rather have three sweet projectors??

Xenotone, the latest beta drivers from NVidia are starting to support their 3DTV stuff. I really don't know any of the details, though. A 50" wouldn't fit so well on my desktop. You might try checking here.
