@TwL
Just tested your experimental 113 on my tri-fire 5970+5870. On benchmark Tropics v1.3 DX11 it was slower compared to previous build 4.23b. In games BF:BC2 DX11 fps was nice average 130, but some black stripes appeared constantly like in every 10sec interval and it crashed on exit of match. Dirt2 DX11 was very smooth, constant fps in game, but there was fps drop and rise between game and menu. Just tell me what else I can test.

I know it's slower that's not the point when whole game crashes on screen which is ridiculous. I know where the mistake is which is good news. Will be
fixing the HD5 CFX setups on next setups. Damn I would just need more Instant testers which can bunch drivers in and simply test against CFX and
give me results at ones and not look the stop watch how many drivers they've installed or how their systems wasn't working, but simply do the work
it requires to get functional setup like @Hans Dampf did some time ago great work with me.

This is only way to test as I could need 10 patches and 5 drivers tested at ones tester gets their hands on them not 2 days after I give an patch to someone. Lazy people kills me someday I bet.

@TwL
Thanks for replay TwL! I'd be glad to help you how ever I can, the only thing is my work that I have to do some night shifts and day shifts during the week, that means I am away of my computer and can only read some forum updates on my smart phone while I'm at work. My system is pretty stable since I built it myself, never have any crashes related to hardware, its mostly water cooled.

nah, just meant basically some testers who've offered to help and when the time comes they think I am gonna offer them 1 solution. While the truth is I
would need multiple solutions tested and for the tester to physically be there and do the work while we're testing (20-XX Mins + several reboots) and not
say to me after first build or patch I provide that 'I give you answer on E-mail tomorrow'.

Didn't mean you have to test anything just an opinion why builds are what they are although always welcome.

@commonly

damn, 64-bit flash is online...

I thought 64bit flash had been around for weeks already?
Because I already installed it days ago. LOL.

By the way, is the current CCC fully compatible with the 64bit flash?

Actually should be, if I ain't mistaken the hardware acceleration on x64 systems should be identical already to 32-bit environment.

@TwL Man you never cease to amaze.

I recently bought a 3rd 5770 to play with in trifire. I really wasn't expecting much out of the third (plan on upgrading the families pc's with them once 6series comes out) as my mobo reverts to 8x8x16 with three cards and reviews weren't yielding that much of a difference between crossfire and trifire (+20ish fps at best on the top in some titles). My results showed even less of a gain which is what I expected.... with Cat10.5a/.8/.9a...

But $&@t son with 423aV2 (flipped a coin between a and b) processing is through the roof! All three cores hold a solid 75%+ usage in most titles (jumpy as hell with officials). IQ is astounding like usual. And my yields are showing better performance (2-8%) in crossfire/trifire than the recent Guru3d quadfire review with your drivers over what they used (10.8?) even with the two lane speeds being reduced. Granted my gear is running overclocked and I know the equipment is far from similar but I really expected much less from this third card based on Hilberts results.

Anyway I wanted to ask if it's possible to get AMD Overdrive to work with these? I'm sure it's something boffed on Overdrives end but the damn pos just crashes on launch with anything more recent than 10.5 including your drivers. I think it was 3.90 of yours that it worked with last which (correct me if I'm wrong) was 10.5 based.

Cheers

Is there any chance that I could run this driver on my i7 system with my old ati x1800xl card under win 7 (64-bit)?
Sorry it's a long shoot but I had to ask. I was able to install 10.2 drivers but after that ati stopped with support. Is it possible to that by editing inf file, if so please let me know.
Thanks.

They're is NO ATI/TwL drivers related crash to desktop (CTD) for BC2, and those Realtek sound card CTD issues are bull**** too if you ever ask.

1. PunkBuster need a clean update
2. Your overclock fail BC2 but may pass burn tests. Reduce OC or add voltages.
3. Corrupted system files. Open a command prompt, type "sfc /scannow"
4. Corrupted mind, you messed up something in your system, up to you to find solution or implose.

No man you wrong, with catalyst 10.4 and catalyst 10.5a i don't have ctd at all, and many players like me if you not believe me just see in amd game forum how many replays are about this.
And there a posto in the Ea forum with 300 pages about this too, so really i'm not a liar the game crash and the only thing it' s the drivers related.
I tried with sound and without, i tried sfc / scannnow and nothing, really i tried all and nothing, simply drivers related.

I found a fix for CCC resetting 3D settings after resuming from hibernate/sleep. All you need to do is stop the service AMD External Events Utility, through services.msc or task manager. You'll need services.msc if you want to disable it by default on system start up. This is applicable for 3.95 (and maybe others), for those who use it.

CoMa666 i'm curious about your winsat assessment with the hardware you have.
Please post it here.

open a command prompt, type "winsat query > winsat.log"

@ TwL, I am new to this thread, actually in dilemma for buying second hand GTX 295 or 4870 CF. Without any doubt, 4870 CF sounds better choice to me in terms of cost effectiveness.

What makes me worried is the official CF driver support for current new games, like fifa11, pse 2011, lara coft, dead rising 2, F1 2010, darksiders, CIV5 yes, that is basically including all new games ^^..... it would drive me nut if I have to wait for official CF upgrade once per month

I looked via 10 pages, saw you said some game are alright now with latest build, like fifa 11, F1 2010, but I guess it is just for single card?

How about CF setting for HD4xxx series? Is it safe to say I could get a faster CF support with your build

By the way , thx for building alternate option to all of us !!!

GeForce 295 is better, IMO. You don't need to worry about drivers and games compatibility problem later.

Yea, you only have to worry about the card bottlenecking itself, and the drivers themselves having tons of issues, and no real optimization. Sounds better no?

In other words if you want to hug nVidia, please go do so in the nVidia section, and spare us ATi people, and users the pain of having to sit and read more crap like this.

I am not trying to flame, but you must realize this is the ATi section, and some people such as myself do not like nVidia.
