MSI Afteruburner 1.6.0 Beta 5 fan issue -

When i use User Defined fan control on my GTX 480, whenever i shutdown afterburner, the fan speed goes down to a lowly 44% and stays there and doesnt even rise for auto fan control.
NOW when i start up afterburner again, it starts running the user defined fan control again like normal, but i dont want to leave Afterburner running because it uses 8%of my cpu all the time due to polling.
Is this a problem with the software for user defined control? because i uninstalled EVGA precision incase there was a conflict and still no luck.

That's not a fan issue, entirely user understanding issue.
1) Software user defined fan control is called software not just for fun. It requires software to reside in memory for proper functionality. Somthing needs to check temperatures periodically, something need tell the card to follow defined curve and update fan speeds when necessary. It will not work when you're closing Afterburner, and it is SUPPOSED to revert to default hardware fan control algorithm (which is set to 44% in idle until temperatures are reaching operating temperature point). It is NORMAL.
2) Software user defined fan control is NOT free from performance hit point of view. And performance hit depends on may factors, including the way you setup user defined fan control algorthm. And there is built-in performance profiler, allowing you to estimate performance hit. Try to read context help for fan speed polling setting in fan control tab.
So RTFM please, all your questions are covered in help system.

Well apparently that does not happen with EVGA precision or the basic auto settings for fan contol in afterburner. so it would be no different by setting a custom mapping for auto fan speeds and still keeping them even when shutting the program down because if you choose Auto fan setting in afterburner or precision, IT still does its job when the software is closed regardless. should be no different from using custom mapped auto fan speeds.
im also saying why even if i DO use user defined fan speeds, that it makes the fan STAY at 44% on shutdown of afterburner and doesnt let it rise until i reopen afterburner. thats another error with afterburner.

No need to tell me what is hapening with EVGA Precision. I know it a bit better than you can imagine because it is my product too. And the only thing with error(s) is your understanding. You have all you need to to fix understanding in the previous post. So reread it and start thinking please. Closed.
P.S. Users with such understanding is a direct reason why I don't unlock access to software automatic fan control algorithm in EVGA Precision BTW.
