Personnaly, as I like having boxed games (yeah, I'm one of those guys^^) I've pre ordered the boxed copy on amazon (no freebie, only the preorder code granting a 1 day headstart)

If you didn't buy the Collectors Edition when it was first announced, you're SOL. No one and I mean no one has it anymore. Ebay does, buy they want both your balls and your kidney for it. Best Buy was given a limited number to start out with and according to my sister, her store sold out on the pre-orders for the CE within the first 10 days and the second wave was limited to less than what they were allotted the first go around. And those were gon within a few days. She said more than likely that will be it on the CE's. I still haven't heard if they got anymore in or not. I doubt it though, because I remember when Anet first announced the pre-orders, there was only going to be a limited supply of the CE's. Once those were gone, they werent making any more.

But to answer AndreasGuido's question, if you want goodies for this game, you'll need to buy the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Only one of the elder dragons will be in the initial release and that will be Zhaitan. He will be the final boss. So, i'm pretty confident the storyline + PvP will keep me busy until the first expansion rolls out.

I'm pretty sure there is a 6 or 7 hour time difference between you and I. So I would start checking around 8pm or 9pm your time.

Yeah same as before for uk. I aways start checking at around 7.30pm as on a few of the betas and stress tests me and the gf managed to get in early before the storm and the hammer on the login servers

edit: what world servers are people on? I've been on desolation since first beta, we always dominate on wvwvw we seem to be the main uk world.

i was on desolation with my guild until i transferred to try a different guild on a different server. our guild will stay on desolation most likely. I'll get to choose from servers on the 25th, correct?

Yes should be able to pick again at launch again.

Still on the fence about this game....

I'll list the cons for me atm.

1. Some wierd characters/races. Look like they are out of some Japaneseesque childrens tv/film program
2. Saw some weapons e.g a 2 handed sword which look oversized and cheesy.
3. Performance crap?
4. Lack of builds or individuality

On the other hand

1. Graphics
2. New fresh innovative mmo. Although I cant see it being much diff to others.
3. Action/fun.
4 No subs

Played most mmos but ddo is my favourite due to the grping system/amount of quests and its classic dnd with lots of different characters/loot.

P.S Not trying to slag of guild wars 2 as I would need to play it first to be a better judge but these are my gut feelings on reading/watching some info.

Saw a couple of boss fights and it looked much the same as i seen on other games. Although did look spectacular.

Viewed another guy running around in a lovely looking chasm/cannon and there were some traps etc/jumping but apart from looking great seemed very slow and a bit boring..

p.p.s did play the first and liked it.

*yes, if you go big 2 hander with Asura, it'll look weird to you and me, but fun to others.
*performance is good, you'll have no issues at all
*the only thing that worries me is the potential lack of builds. gw2 will most likely be a PvP game and that's what they aimed towards, it'll all be down to skill.

And they're not really japanese esque, in no way do they conform to the kawaii attitude, they're a race of scientists and geniuses.

The size of weapons scales to the size of your character, so even the same hammer one will look huge on a big char it will be scaled down for lets say asura it works pretty well tbh.

The game doesn't really have the typical japanese/korean mmo look to it. It has more of a Celtic feel and look imo.

its definitely not on the same level of Tera's over sexual little girls in knickers running round with squeaky voices fighting monsters oh and battle panda's!

About personal builds, trait points will come into play along with the skill tree.

the trait system probably more as you have to pick tree of what type of build you want this comes into play around level 20 and can drastically change the way your character works.

go desolation mate, good server, busy and seems to be doing well in WvWvW.

How can you predict that? A lot of people will go to different servers at launch than where they went during the BWE's and stress tests. There's no guarantee for anything
