Default MSI 5770 Hawk: config or profile setting for lower voltage - 03-20-2010, 06:46 | posts: 37 | Location: SF Bay Area

I'm attempting to lower the voltage to 0x24 (0.900) or 0x28 (0.850) instead of 0x1C (1.00). It looks like the register for VID=11b is 0xD7, 0xDA, 0xDB, 0xDC, or 0xDF. However, I have been unsuccessful at guessing a command for MSIAfterburner.cfg [Settings] or Profile [Startup] to get those values out.

What is the option to change the default voltage?

Also, is there an option to change the default core clock lower than 660 Mhz?

Code:
Scanning GPU VEN_1002&DEV_68B8&SUBSYS_21401462&REV_00&BUS_1&DEV_0&FN_0...
Scanning I2C bus 6...
Probing device 40...

Afterburner 1.60 beta 4, AllowCaptureVoltageDefaults

Code:
default captured voltage:
[Settings]
 uP6204_Defaults=D7 12

Profile Idle V_GPU @ V_CORE (V)
D7 12 1.125
D7 14 1.100
D7 16 1.047
D7 18 1.049
D7 19 1.037
D7 20 0.949
D7 21 0.937
D7 22 0.925
D7 23 0.912
D7 24 0.899
Voltage defaults set in this way seem to be slightly less stable than without the setting in AB 1.51. However, I focused on 0.950V & below which I had little bench time with prior to 1.60 beta 4. Previously, 0.950V was only possible with a change to the video BIOS.
