Thanks for sharing the new trailer/info with us, Wunderbar_007.

It's definitely one of those games I'm more than interested in and can't wait for it to get released although I don't expect it to still be in 2010.

I must admit I am extremely surprised by some of these answers, it almost seems possible that this game will be, *gasp*... Good!

You are most welcome

I'm a sucker for the old classics like Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Thief, Stalker, etc. so when a sequel to those is announced.....well lets just say I notice haha.

If they remade Deus Ex with one of the current game engines and re-named it Deux Ex 3, I'd still be happy to pay full price for it. I mean, the graphics, physics and AI need updating but the storyline, levels and over all gameplay is still golden in my eyes.

Not to be a party pooper, though I don't think this game will be bad, it won't become legendary in its own right like the original due to its cross platform development. I think the current AvP is a good example of that.

WHICH ENGINE & PLATFORM?
Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be as cutting edge as possible. The Tomb Raider Underworld engine is the basic platform, but it will be unrecognizable - the dev team is making significant upgrades to it. The DX:HR dev team, plus a team of dedicated engineers are working on the engine and its tools, plus there is a team of engineers in Crystal making improvements. DX:HR will not resemble TRU at all.

Windows, Xbox 360, and PS3 have been confirmed as supported platforms. There are no Mac or Wii versions planned.
i do hope so, although TRU looked ok too..

Wow, watching that gave me a semi....seems the devs are trying to retain the "feel" of the original, so that's encouraging.

I'll be following this with interest.....

Please God, let it be good pleeaasee....oh please....let it be like the first...plze plze

DX2 was alright in it's own way, but Deus Ex (1) was probably my favorite game of all time. It was the pinnacle of (my) pc gaming, and probably pc gaming altogether. Ahh... Thief series + Deus Ex and all the awesome pc gaming goodness that shaped the world on gaming.

Sometimes I wish console games would die off and developers would get back to their roots of PC games. I'm really hoping that this Deus Ex isn't a let down :/

That looked nothing like the original, don't know what you were watching.

Looks like this will be another game that's got it's sights so far pushed up against big hollywood movies that it will be more entertaining to watch then to actually play. I already hate it.

No, it doesn't look like the original at all. It looks like a completely new game series.

It is more similar to Mass Effect than Deus Ex.

I didn't say it looked like the original so wat r u on about?

And you seem surprised - were you expecting the new one to use the same graphics engine as the original?

You took the word look far too literally, I meant in the same way you meant feel. I don't see how you could possibly think they share even the slightest similarities however, especially so if you've read anything about HR. Whatever though, that's your opinion.

Stop being such a sadsack ffs..

Yeah maybe it didn't look quite as dark & gritty, but I'm hoping it was just hyped up for the trailer...

You can't tell what the whole game is going to be like from that trailer anyway, it was only few minutes long, and if it's in keeping with the original there will be days and days of gameplay...

I'll reserve judgment till I've seen some proper in-game footage.

I have seen real gameplay leaked from E3, it's not a cut up trailer, but it still plays like one. Everything is presented to the player on a platter, stealth is just a matter of pressing the cover button then pressing the take down button, it plays cinematic after cinimatic, goes into 3rd person view every few seconds, and that's just getting into the gameplay footage. I could go on about the features that they have announced, but weren't specifically shown (no melee weapons, forced health regeneration, linear level design etc).

Same here.

The original was God.

This game might end up being better than Invisible War, but that's not saying much. (sigh) At least I can always start up another game in the original again...

I'd say the pinnacle of PC gaming was during the boom of adventure games, aka the golden age of PC gaming (at least that's what I think).

As much as I loved the first game, I'm not sure if I'm gonna express my love for it all over again if I were to replay it. It's an interesting direction that they're taking this new one in, but if it's going to be gimped in comparison to the first in terms of open-ness and choices, a lot of us are gonna be disappointed. Oh well, even if it doesn't compare to the first one, as long as it's fun in its own way, I won't mind.

Do you mean the one from ScrewAttack?

I've seen it, but to me it looked like a devs fly through and not actual gameplay...?

Also the (cam) quality wasn't that great imho...

nice, let's hope they implement DX11 properly, something you can clearly notice cause so far most implementations has been a bit meh.
