built in, Realtek HD ALC885 or 889a, they're perfect and the drivers are always updated, also works perfect with Bad COmpany.
i sold my XFI long time ago and never looked back.

I got the Supreme FX1 card with my ASUS P5N32-E SLI board, and I'm seriously thinking about starting to use it, once I have the replacement HT OMEGA CLARO, in my hands from Newegg.

Why not try the normal drivers instead of the XF-I drivers?

I suggest an Auzen Forte or HomeTheater HD, well really any of the recent Auzen cards are great! The Forte has a headphone amp & really your not going to find better gaming sound cards. They are well worth the price.

At the risk of sounding stupid...
What about a creative x-fi card?
The cheapest, gamer, is a reasonable card and I have had no issues with win 7 or win 7 64 bit.
There is another way to go on this...
Rather than replace your sound card, try replacing your mike with a usb mic, like logitech-thats what I have now.
It avoids sound card issues and found drive automatically.

When I had my Xonar HDAV it worked very good in windows 7, My dads X-FI Xtreme gamer having no issues in 7 either. I played a few games on his comp when I waiting for hardware the req to use my comp to come.
My Bravura works fine in windows 7 as well, The Realtek on my netbook when I had windows 7 on it didnt really work that well. But it worked ok.
Reason why I suggest the Xonar DS other then it being $49 in the usa is because it does have a dip-8 op-amp socket. it only has DTS connect encoder for Digital.
Also GX mode in the xonar drivers only gave me issues in certain games that also dont like alchemy like Koei engine games like dynasty warriors 6.

Stay away from the X-Raider! The drivers do not work in Windows 7. The X-Raider has extremely low Mic volume. This is the same with either the official Auzen drivers or the "default" C-Media ones.
Also, my "previous" experience with the X-Raider, my Windows 7 64bit Ultimate was getting "chipmunk" style voices at "system" power on. Does not happen with my "lamed" Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer, so it seems to be the card and not my 5.1 speakers nor my PC.

Auzen's own web forums have numerous posts concern extreme low Mic volume controls and they have yet to provide a revised driver to fix this. Even with the forum's posted suggestion of using the C-Media "revised" driver seems to not help the Mic volume.

My "old" (?) Auzentech X-Mystique works in Windows 7, 64-bit (5.1 surround, microphone, etc.), and the correct drivers are available. I love the fact that they made updated 64-bit drivers for this sound card (which basically guaranteed a future purchase from me when update time comes). I play TF2 with the mic with no problems.

As we are in the same topic I currently own Creative Xfi extreme Music bought in 2006. I don't have major issue with Win 7 64. But I feel some time the quality of sound is not as good as i was getting in my XP sp2.
I was also thinking about Asus sound card (anything good under 100$). will you people please help me to choose one as I am on almost same condition as Veteran.
My speaker is logitech X540 5.1. My primary focus is for DVD and music instead of gaming.
Thanks all. RS-X
