Default Looking for 23-24 inch gaming monitors - 02-19-2010, 01:51 | posts: 43

Will be used with initially just an xbox 360 via VGA, and a PS3 via HDMI and eventually a gaming PC. So far I am considering these three:

On a side note how would I get audio from these monitors when using the HDMI cable for the PS3?

Thank you!

this is the one I use and love it!

As for the HDMI and audio, the monitors with built in speakers will play the audio from the speakers themselves if you want to use another source for speakers you would probably need to have an audio connector from your console (not familiar with the PS3, AV Multiport?).

Example: My computer and 360 are both connected to my monitor and when I game I switch my desktop to my other monitor and play the 360 on my main screen.

The HDMI connects to the monitor as well as a proprietary audio connector which I have it connected to my PC and I run my audio through the speakers or my headphones.

Tough if you get something like the LG M237WD-PM 23" that has audio outputs at the back of the monitor then you're good to go:

The audio can be played directly out of the monitor speakers or you can use the audio jacks (red and white) to play on a separate set.

Thanks for the input, I ended up ordering the LG from Tiger Direct after reading a Cnet review which gave it a "very good" score. Its designed to be both a television set and a monitor, so it seems perfect for my needs.

I have the same company, look, and size except it says glossy and cost me 180 ( I just didn't get the attena connector video jacks and stuff) came with HDMI and the two pc plug ins, good enough for my needs.
