Lately pretty much anything relevant in news and articles that involves graphics products are linked somehow with ATI. as it's the only only developer right now offering DirectX 11-capable graphics... More...
They're right, DX11 isn't really important right now. Getting their ass spanked by ATi and that sales they are making is though.
DX11 is an advantage Nvidia had the first DX10 cards and they where a big hit. But...DX10 sucked hard DX11 has gotten of to a better start so it looks like it will help ATI get the upper hand also when femi does drop ATI will lower prices probably lower than nvidia cards if its faster its basically a win win for ATI at the moment unless femi is lower priced and very high performance.
TESSELLATION ..a big mile stone in GPU history..what a crap... EDIT: ( i didnt read an article or comment about its MILESTONE in gpu history. iam BS it myself for fun) But, considering Dx11 runs Dx10 and Dx9 games much more faster, thats the point for me.
Cold war, dudes, cold war!!! Whenever ATI is on the news,Nvidia is saying or showing something-fake GPU,some fake or not specs, now that.Man,they've got to be desperate to keep their fans on their side, until Fermi comes. But they better shut up and do something.I realy need 5870 with 100+$ off:thumbup: Bad english,I know.
Does it matter? DX10 was hardly anything to write home to mum about... Btw - Is anyone else getting sick of all this tit-for-tat BS? It's like listening to a couple of kids bickering...
they are just pissed they cannot get out a DX 11 card, oh it's deja vu all over again, remember back in the DX 9 era when the FX series were getting pwnd by radeon 9800?
What did you spect nvidia was going to say ?? 90% of ppl think DX11 it's better bc. 11>10. (I'm talking ab. std ppl, not ppl here) So, they need to say what they just said. Also they needed to add: DX11 only a short term advantage. But this is only because we're late and getting our ass whipped. If it was the other way around, what would ATi say ab DX11? What nvidia said. LOL
I am an NVIDIA fan & I think that when Fermi will be released I think that it will definitely overkill ATI. Also I think that Nvidia had always had the best products, with a lot of performance and overclocking. It is a fact that Nvidia had always had their products a bit priced but definitely it is worth it to pay that amount of money versus the performance it offers. Also when Fermi gets out I will surely buy one
Nvidia makes a liberal usage of their media time. It's smart to do so in some respects. But, I can't help but feel that it's a case of trying to shout over everyone else in hopes that the loudest voice will be the only one heard. I'd say it's more just a distraction away from all of the people asking where Fermi is, and unfortunately for Nvidia, that's the first response that is had by people reading this.
They have no product to offer, so they offer smack talk. DX11 features look cool only in Heaven Benchmark. Dirt 2 is a joke. Still, I think that it will get better adoption than DX10 and that's why: 1. DX10 and DX10.1 cards can run a subset of DX11, which they support. 2. They added compute shaders for each shader model. 3. DX11 is supported on both Vista and Win7 4. XP is getting older and older 5. There aren't that many cards left that don't support DX10 What's my point? Not too long time ago, if developers wanted DX10 support in games, they had to prepare code paths for Shader Model 2.0, 2.0b, 3.0, 4.0; usually it was done by preparing 3.0 version with cut-down 2.0+ and a few extra effects for 4.0. Soon they'll only have to prepare only DX11 version with a few fallbacks for cards that don't support 5.0... well, in theory, weak one... current consoles don't support such shader models, so PC versions will still require extra love from developers. DX11 is a big step forward even for people who have only DX10 hardware, but people want DX11 hardware. ATI has significant lead now. Nvidia feels this pressure and I'm a bit worried that Fermi might be flawed by premature release. Looking at profile summaries of people posting in this thread, I can see that most of us have rigs powerful enough to handle latest games at high details. We can wait peacefully :]
Even if this STATEMENT is CERTAIN TRUE, as u see NVIDIA put themselves in a bad public relation situation. i mean u musnt answer them with statement nvidia, answer them with BETTER PRODUCT!
not again with this nvidia bull**** god i hate that f company, every time the company get s bashed over the head they say the same thing over and over again
You're a fan of a company that in reality couldn;t give two shakes of a horses penis about you? I can't believe the amount of fanboys on this forum. Fermi might well be faster, i expect it to be... but it won't "overkill" (wrong term but whatever) ATI. It'll be 20 - 30% faster than the 5870 at best and will probably be on par with the GTX295.
