I found this on a Slovaki website dated December 8, 2009.

NVIDIA recently posted up a picture of Tom Petersen, Director of Technical Marketing at NVIDIA, with a Maingear Shift PC that contains two GF100 cards! We have known Tom for a number of years now and we can tell you that smile is not an every day look of joy.

That doesn't make sense. And in any way, I doubt that site a lot.
Said somewhere that the GTX 380 would be 15% more powerful than the 5970, which is dual GPU...
Without any benchmarks to prove it. And is that DP or SP they're talking? That isn't clarified either...

It's that case (Raven 1 or 2, not sure) which makes it look strange.

Odd, that's one thing that i actually think would be true from that website

And i'm being honest here, as the 5000 series in terms of performance for next gen was not amazing at all, having the 5970 being not a HUGE difference from a GTX 295, and the GTX 380 is supposed to be faster then a GTX 295, but no one has ever said how much faster, it being 15% more powerful then a 5970 just wouldn't surprise me at all

Well i must admit that is a strange case. If i zoom in about 500% and clean the pic a bit with Photo zoom pro i can spot 2 reflections in the area where the DVI port would be, guess thats the holes or the screws. I wish these guys would use a better camera.

Its not that much faster cause even an i7 can't keep up with it we are gonna need something faster for the new gtx300 and hd5800 tbh

shame theres not software or gpu screenshots though.

I agree about the case. It feels like it has the mobo pulled quite a bit more to the inside than most cases I've seen.

Interesting L1 size. Maybe it's because of the cores interconnection?

Could easily be a fake though.

that's to each their owns belief, because untill you can prove to me that the CPU is actually keeping them back, i won't believe, as i see the performance a 5870, and then i see the performance a 5970, and it looks exactly how it should be

5870 isn't much better then a GTX 285, and a 5970 isn't much better then a GTX 295, seems to be doing just fine with the i7's

And after reviewing the VGA charts again, that only further supports what i say, for instance like in Anno 1404 - Dawn of Discovery, the the 5970 is in no way being bottlenecked by the CPU of any kind, it performs worse then the 4850 and 4870 in crossfire, which if it was bottlenecked, wouldn't be possible, they'd all perform the same, same goes for Call of Duty 5: World at War, Far Cry 2, etc. so i'd say it has less to do with CPU strength and more to do with coding and engine of the game

    That's why we have PhysX.

But yeah is also depends on the game engine ,scaling ect.

Well is that going to help since physX runs physX things not actually feeding the gpu raw data maybe im wrong i dunno.

Well i think Nvidia showed us enough photos, its time for them to push these bad boys in the public so that we can have benchies and see its TRUE power. Hopefully they will hold up to our expectations, and bring competition to the market again.

It takes some calculations (like game physics) from cpu to gpu which will decrese cpu load.

You're not understanding what i'm saying, it's clear that the CPU is not the problem, but rather that the game engine is to blame, if one game can handle both the CPU and GPU just fine, that's what you grade from, if another game has a bottleneck, well, that's the games fault, and you don't grade from it

So, from the games that don't have personal problems with their engine or coding, what i see is the 5970 not being much better then a GTX 295, and since the GTX 380 is supposed to be faster then a GTX 295, but has not been told how much faster, the quote that it'll be 15% faster then a 5970 would not surprise me at all

And also, just to clarify, at least for me, a graphics card being too fast for your CPU means that all games are being bottlenecked by your CPU because it can't catch up, it does not however mean IMO that certain games will bottleneck, because that's not a system performance problem that's a game problem

Indeed as some games don't bottleneck at all but hey i hope all games scale like the duria.durina lol i dunno whts its call the engine in farcry2 anyways it scaled amazingly well.
