What operating system are you running? I own the Fatal1ty X-FI Sound Card. And this happens to me now and then. It is the creative drivers and software most likely. I must admit their software is sometimes flaky.
Have you installed Creative Console Launcher? It is additional software offered from creative after the drivers are installed. I find it easier to use then windows trying to control the audio card.
^^ lol... as i said i installed everything.!! the full package from creative..console launcher, driver, and oin and on.. and i tried the daniel k. support pack . its everything in there... greetz Beta
Hi, I have been using this for a few years, worked on Vista and now on 7, never had a problem, changes to Game mode when I game and back to Entertainment. Easy to configure, you need to tell the app which programs switch to the different modes. http://www.freewebs.com/spectra9/ReadmeFramed.html
hmmmm, ok i will give this a try.. hope it works... THX mate.. edit... hmm, this tool is cool but its not working right maybe because im on win 64bit..when it starts to change the modus it takes more than a minute to make that and the CPU usage is over 60% while its doing that.. so i´ll better stay with out this tool...damn..
hmm, when i watch movies the gamemode is nnot so good, cause i cant set the bass and treble etc... in game mode the bass is harder and my neighbours wouldnt like it
http://www.spectra9.com/xfmc/xfmc.html Using the X-Fi Mode Changer you can change bass and treble in game mode. But still, besides that, are there any advantages to using Entertainment mode to watch movies and listen to music instead of using game mode?
X-Fi Mode Changer seems to work better than Creative's own AutoMode Switcher app for me I don't have any large CPU spikes during use and unlike the Creative app, XFMC switches back to entertainment mode after exiting Dirt2. I tested both, and although the Creative switcher works with other applications like media player, it failed to change the mode back to entertainment after exiting Dirt2 here as well. [edit] unfortunately, neither of them will detect 64bit exe's [edit-update] After using it for a little longer, I have also seen the CPU spike and it take approx a minute to change modes
