The prices of all their items, including the in stock ones are insane at the moment, the i7 920's went from $359 to $469

I have noticed. For some reason it's getting more and more expensive to upgrade round here.
Then again, hardware has been getting exponentially more powerful lately...

It has, but that doesn't explain the increase, i've been keeping an eye on the prices, and ram has gone up by 10-20 for everything they have.

Christmas bonuses?
Also, I can see them trying to get rid of everything at a good profit before all the competition comes out ie: GT300, i9, i7 800 etc etc.

Now your thinking, that's 2 kidneys at $17000 a pop ( in the phillipines), or you can just harvest the stem sells, oh man, my next rig is gonna be stem-cell-tastic. Then there's always child slave labour if the first 2 don't work out

dont you mean 5970's? they are £530 here in uk...so not quite sure of your point still. We know they are expensive everywhere...(1.8 aus dollars to the pound..so australia is same as uk more or less)
Either you buy one or not. This thread smacks of Ati bashing to me..
Enough said.
Perhaps if you listed where in aus are the best and cheapest etailers might be more use?

For 1000USD, you should be able to get (2) 295GTX vid cards.
I admit, it will not do DX-11, but besides the one off-road game, are their any others out right now?
BTW, if you google that card, you can find it from 600 to 700 dollars USD.
Just saying...

For $1150 AU I bought 2x GTX 295 + $400 for 2x EK wb's.
To be truthful I've been trying to sell my cards just so i can buy 1x 5970 and a matching wb. (I'm in no major hurry)
These ppl that say "what games use dx11 anyway", the point is null.
No use living in the past, DX11 is here now.
I don't care if the games aren't out, I wanna be ready for when they are.

we aren't bashing ATI (look at my specs, i have a 5850) just how ridiculous the prices are here in AUS, i mean our dollar is roughly at .9 of the USD and we still pay 1.5-2 x the price of what the US does.

my post wasnt really aimed at you nvm. think we all know they are pretty damm expensive but i did some maths and current exchange rate shows uk prices to aus dollars for the 5970 working out to be around the 900 or so bucks. i dont think that's way more than us brits are paying. but have noticed a few countries that seem to pay a bit extra.
(heard they got it bad in scandinavia as well and also i found prices in spain were a bit higher as well re comp stuff).
anyways you need to pay more you got hotter chicks/beaches/cold lagers/shrimps on the bbq/danni+kylie minogue
and dont start me off about the rugby team. they just hammered wales.

Low stock means these wank retailers can price em to what ever they like, wheres the accc when you need them eh. I've got two on order with getright as soon as they get stock at a much more realistic price of $850au. Can't wait to bench those bitches.

Talk about paranoid, there was no ati bashig, i was just checking the price of components, at that store, which is one of the cheapest ones in aus, and they have jacked the price up to good god. There were no fanboy comments until you came here sooking. By comparison a gtx295 is half the price at the same store, the exchange rate has nothing to do with it, The u.k gets raped on pc prices worse than us, aus dollar= 93U.S cents, they should be very close to the U.S price here

oh no the fanboys comments again...funny how it always seems to be you making anti-ati comments. then bringing up a thread about ati cards being damm expensive, and not just telling us once but several times. Like we dont know prices are high atm with ati cards.
and you have clearly stated in several threads you are waiting for fermi. slighty co-incidental is it not?
only fanboy in this thread is you. sort it out boyo most of us arent interested in ati v nvidia we buy products based on price/perf which is ati atm.
i wonder when fermi is released and the new card is £600 perhaps. will you be posting a thread about highly priced nvidia cards? pull the other one its got bells on
