I overclocked mine to 3.2(i7 920) and getting ideal temp 48 C.Is it safe?Also what max temp is acceptable?

PS:I am on stock cooler.

The table over at Hardwaresecrets says maximum temperature is 67.9°C. 48°C is a bit high for an idle temp, but hey — you're using the stock cooler.

Oh, and what case do you have?

Ok my load temp after playing crysis for 1h is 55 C.
I am using space case(Custom) with 3 fan.

A lil' high, I would say, but far from dangerous. One thing though — did you check your maximum temperature by monitoring while gaming or did you look at it after you had closed the game? Because your CPU can go down as much as four degrees in about half a second in this kind of scenario.

well i checked the log file and also checked while playing its between 52-56C.

67.9°C is not the max temp

that is the Tcase temp no doubt

The max i would push it on stock cooling would be say 85c on LinX or IBT Stable.
