The name of the phenomena where a flowing fluid's molecules get trapped in the microscopic surfaces of the container it is flowing through? I know turbulence solves the problem, but it doesn't help me without the name of the problem in the first place!

Writing a lab report on heat exchangers, and realised that what I read about turbulence and whatever-it-is-called from doing watercooling research might come in handy.

are you talking about the boundary layer created by laminar flow over a surface?

A Bose-Einstein condensate can create a similar circumstance of laminar flow across every possible surface structure where quantum states overlap and all possible paths of flow are realized at the same time.

maybe we can apply this to cars or heating systems!

What kind of turbulence best counteracts this effect? sound waves enough or does it need to be more profound? I am assuming the less laminar flow the better your cooling.
