Default Overclock settings reverted to stock and locked after a system crash - 11-21-2009, 09:59 | posts: 171 | Location: Los Angeles | User is Offline

I have been running this rig overclocked stably for 2 years now never had problems until last night I had a bit too much running; I forced OFF the computer by holding the power button. When I restarted i noticed bios said the E6750 was @ 2.66ghz - 667mhz memory instead of my clocked 3.2ghz and 800mhz Memory.

I reloaded the saved Overclocked settings from bios and restarted and nothing changed.
Memory is 1:1 800 :800
PCI freq - 110
CPU volt. 1.45v

All that smart fan stuff is disabled.

I tried clearing CMOS with that jumper thing and all it did was reset to stock settings. I then tried to reload the "stable" overclock settings and again bios refuses to use them.

Whats going on here? Is Vista doing this?

I was extracting a large file when it happened and running Firefox. System just hung up be because i was doing too much at once and wouldnt let me do anything like CTRL ALT DELETE so i forced it off.
