Default Hmm made the switch to Team-Green - 11-21-2009, 04:40 | posts: 2,703 | Location: UK | User is Online

So guys I wanted a change and made the switch over to team green after getting an awesome deal from happy here on Guru3D. Went from an HD4890 to a GTX275 (only cost about £15 or so after selling) So I just wanna see if there is anything I should kno. I unistalled the catalyst drivers, ran driver sweeper in safe mode, then installed the latest nvidia and physX drivers.

-My first observations are NFS Shift is so much smoother; but I never tried the game with the two patches so the ATI bug may have been fixed.
-Secondly Crysis is less smooth, I was getting better frames on my 4890 but that was OCed to 960 core.
-Thirdly looking at the clocks on rivatuner, it seems my card stays at 633/1404/1134 Iin 2D mode, is that correct?

Feel free to comment on my observations, also what is the best tools used to overclock a GTX275, best tool to use to up voltage(and what is considered safe voltage), what I clocks I should expect to reach etc

If there is anything else I should know add that too, sorry bout all the questions guys, just haven't used an nVidia card in a while

P.S. I am using Vista X64

what driver version are you using some of them had issues with 2d clocks, no voltage adjustment is available on that i dont think
should be able to get it stable at 725/1620/1296, thats were i had it and it was rock solid

hmmm i was using them they worked fine for me, maybe a reinstall of drivers should fix your 2d clock issue, unless you have something running in background which triggers 3d mode

good deal!

im using 195.50 in win7 and 195.55 in xp.

195.55 made some probs in win7 for me - gta4 and nfs shift both crashed right before it jumped the game.. ingame menus etc worked fine in both games...

btw i saw you mentioned nfs shift both patches... what is this new nfs shift patch finally out?

gpu wont down clock if you use dual screen (its because of safety reasons, so it has enough power to run both screens). Check release notes..

^ think itz stock, bought it from happy and he says you can't change voltage

right next question guys; I am OCing and stability testing with Furmark, which leads to the display driver crashing when I push the shader clock up. This is causing the clocks to go down to 400/800/300, how do I reset the display driver so that I can continue without having to reboot?
