Default 5770 not "filling" hdtv screen...help? - 11-20-2009, 22:28 | posts: 37 | Location: USA | User is Offline

hey guys. small problem. I have a 19" monitor hooked via dvi and a 27" hdtv hooked up by hdmi.

The desktop area on the TV has a slight black line on the top, so its not filling the tv.

when watching tv thats hooked to hdmi or wii on component it, it fills the screen.

the resolution for the monitor is 1280x1024@75hz

the resolution on the HDTV is 1920x1080@60hz

also, less importantly, is there a way to get the desktop wallpaper on the hdtv to fill the screen?

the only way that I con think of is to try to get the closest match with your screen resolutions or play with screen positioning in ATI Catalyst.

if there are multiple hdmi ports on the hdtv, try a different one as one of them is normally set to pc input.

check if you can turn on gpu scaling in the ccc settings

Goto CCC and Desktop and Displays, then click the little arrow on the top of the small display picture at the bottom of that window > click configure > now along the top of the new window there is an option for "Scaling Options", click that and slide the slider all the way along to the right for Overscan. That should fill the screen up for you, same problem I came across with my 5770.

Hope that fixes it for ya

you sir, are awesome. all the way to the right was too much though, had to slide it just a bit to the right. solved it tho.
