First iPhone worm discovered - ikee changes wallpaper to Rick Astley photo

On each installation, the worm - written by a hacker calling themselves "ikex" - changes the lock background wallpaper to an image of Rick Astley with the message:

ikee is never going to give you up

What's clear is that if you have jailbroken your iPhone or iPod Touch, and installed SSH, then you must always change your root user password to something different than the default, "alpine". In fact, it would be a good idea if you didn't use a dictionary word at all.

The worm will not affect users who have not jailbroken their iPhones or who have not installed SSH...

Honestly who uses an iPhone without jailbreaking/unlocking it? When my sister bought one that was the first thing done to her phone. As usual whenever anything that uses electricity beyond the complexity of a lightbulb is used by anyone in my family they expect me to set it up for them, always. God forbid should they actually figure something out themselves.

I had no freakin' clue how any of that stuff is done, luckily it was quite simple. Get firmware, get program, set phone in something-something mode, install stuff, download stuff through phone, done. Jailbroken and unlocked just like that with zero prior knowledge.

It's almost not even a worm. It works only on jailbroken phones with the default password. It does little more than login via SSH, which you must also have installed on this jailbroken iPhone, and change some stuff. Really, it's the users who are stupid here, nothing more.

I'm sure people around here know I'm no fan of Apple, but come on. At least learn what this "worm" is and how it works before pointing fingers.

Because your sister jailbroke it, must mean everyone else did...Hmm, right. The amount of jailbroken Iphones out there is big, but it's not even half of the Iphone users.

i did jailbreak my 3g and my wifes. but when i got my 3gs i didnt touch it. and made my wifes 3g to normal one. i mean non jailbreak.

Only affects jailbroken iphones with ssh installed... you've got to make two stupid decisions to even be vulnerable.
