Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there actually the flu virus in the vaccine? Like, doesn't your body need it to build an immunity to it? If so then you're probably experiencing some of the symptoms..

I keep telling my folks that I won't get any flu shot whatsoever.

My mom got really sick and tired last year when she got her yearly flu shot.

Now my sister is being urged to get hers since she is well within the recommended age group. Hopefully she doesn't get sick or ill.

I wouldn't take it if they put a pointed pistol at at forehead .I got my flue shot last year and I haven't gotten one for 6 years before that day and this you I cought the flu and almost got ammonia twice this year and now I have the cold now and I never did for 6 years until I got the flu shot..and thats the best vaccine they can make after years of study and now they some how came up with it in 6 months??? kinda odd.

The live weakened virus is present only in the nasal spray version. The shot is a plain, old-fashioned flu shot just like any other year. The live virus version is actually perfectly safe for healthy people, but definitely should not be used by those with asthma or similar conditions, or by those who are pregnant, elderly, infants, or otherwise have compromised immune systems. The shot is the ticket in those cases.

1) More dangerous than the flu shot.
2) a quick and dirty fix and not seriously researched.
3) Worse then the disease.

The answers are:
1) Flu is one of the more dangerous diseases in human history. I am not talking about swine or bird, but regular old flu. it kills and alot. So why the hype with swine? Because NO one is immune to it yet. Most of humanity has immunity to quite a few strains of flu. The ones who arent are in a pneumonia risk and therefore in danger.
If no one takes the vaccine, we all can get the flu and everyone is in a higher , FAR higher risk of getting h1n1 bad.
2) Flu vaccine research is a common thing. We know how to do it, and the only thing that was needed for h1n1 is some fresh samples and repeat the technique. Its not quick and dirty, its know and tested.
3) So far there have a miniscule amount of reports of the vaccine causing trouble. Even Dystonia which can manifest itself is a disease which is genetic. It was in that poor girl before and was only manifested. And its a 1/1000000 occurrence.

So , in a nutshell, by not taking the vaccine you are ( and I am not flaming, just being honest):
1) Ignorant.
2) Playing the part of the one guy who wont vaccinate himself against a zombie plauge ( if this was a zombie plague, wouldnt it be cooler? I got the machete people ).
3) Taking a risk. Seriously, go over the numbers ( if you want PM me and I can point you to the research and statistics ).

I took the "classic" (we call it "seasonal" here) flu shot yesterday.
And yeah I felt "weird" during most of the night, but that's "normal" (at least for me...everytime I take a vaccine I get these kind of symptoms).
I didn't take the h1n1 one, and I still don't know if I will (well I have to wait 3 weeks^^)
I take it every year because in my work I often met old/fragile people, and add to this the fact that I have a tendency to get pneumonia regulary (already got three severe)...so I prefer no to add a flu on top of this
But I'm still undecided about the h1n1 thing...

I am scared sh1tless that I will somehow infect my wife with h1n1, since she is 7 month pregnant, and pregnant women dont take h1n1 well.
That is also why I have a personal grudge against people not vaccinating without a mature cause.
They can infect pregnant women just because they didnt think through or check the facts.

Why??? It's just a different strain of influenza. Particularly given that you come into contact frequently with the elderly folks and are prone to pneumonia yourself, intentionally avoiding H1N1 vaccination is insane.

There are two huge risks here for you, in your situation.

1) that you yourself contract H1N1, which is already known to take otherwise healthy adults, give them pneumonia and then drop them dead - never mind that you just stated that you are actually prone to pneumonia and therefore are among the highest risk individuals on the planet for serious complications and ultimately, death.

2) you contract H1N1 and, before realizing you have it, become contagious and infect any elderly people you routinely come into contact with. These are people already prone to pneumonia and, thus, are at far higher risk of death from complications than is the general population. This gets back to my griping about herd immunity. It isn't necessarily about whether you contract H1N1 yourself, it's about whether you become contagious and spread it to someone else.

I hope for your sake and for the sake of those around you that you get the vaccine as soon as possible, particularly given your health.

I agree 100% with you! Some people are just scary nuts.

For example here in the NL, shots are given to the people who are mostly at risk for getting it (children, middle aged), but on Dutch forums, conspiracy theories are being made up about our government implanting chips inside our bodies so that the government can control our BRAINS!

The worst part about that? (stupid) People are believing that nonsense! The scaring off has its effects and less people want to get a shot.
And when more people are going to die because they are scared pussies not taking the vaccine it is the governments fault for doing nothing.

Just for the record, i'm not a scared pussy

I have an extremely excellent immune system. I was never ill once as a child and only started to get the odd cold when i reached my teens, and any virus i get, i sweat it out and let my own body deal with the threat. I get ill probably once a year for 2 or 3 days, and a flu vaccine would do nothing to change that and would probably make it worse.

IF an EPIDEMIC occurred and we had no natural defense WHAT SO EVER, then i'd strongly consider it, but since my immune system will adapt naturally to the virus, then i really see little point in it at all, especially since it's a Mercury based vaccine... yeah, no thanks.

I am with you... it is a lot of talking around this vaccines and they can have very serious side effects as they contain doubfull substances... My opinion is that this is a plan to reduce human race population...

My advice would be to carry a as healthy as possible life style to have a strong imune sistem and in flu season to take more vitamin C,...
I got the flu two weeks ago and I went over it with good alimentation and with exagerate use of vitamin C and proapine... I did not even lost one work day while I was ill
