Most likely because of their apathetic response to the 100,000 undersigned petitioners:

I did not fake it. I randomly went on IW forums, and boom this showed up, so I decided to share a screenshot.

Ummm.. these MySQL errors happen a lot. This doesn't sound like DDoS but possibly hype by rabbid fans wanting to get to the site? Even Guru3D sometimes gives me these MySQL overload errors... it's a standard practise, you'd def. know this if you've maintained a website that uses databases. A properly maintained website would have a proportionally low number of connections allowed to ensure smoothness for the ones already connected so it won't drag the site to a slowing crawl.

My site did that once to me but that's because I'm using a hosting account that's on a shared server...

Not news, let's get along w/ our lives.

If this is just a DDoS... imagine IW.net (the replacement for dedicated servers), with maybe millions of players, plus DDoS.... ohh the lag.

$49.99 x 200,000 = $9,998,000 in potential profit is lost.

It's actually more than that, because for some reason Infinity thought they could charge PC gamers 59.99 this time around. What a laugh. I hope this is a DDoS attack.

I do not think it is right for them to attack a company like this for simply making a decision they don't agree with. People should just play a different game, it's not like the FPS genre has no competition.

The boycott is cool but this isn't.

He means we shouldn't sink to their level so they can blame us. Kind of the Ghandi approach.

Well I definitely don't want them to be able to legitimately blame the community for their problems. However, since they haven't done anything illegal and it's their game, I would consider these actions below their level.
