Hey fellas, been a while since I posted here. Anyway, I recently scored a free HP Pavilion a1642x for free because I helped a guy out with his new computer he just bought and he gave me his old one. It is actually a pretty decent machine: Core 2 Duo e6300, 2048 MB RAM(upgraded from 1024 MB), SATA 250 GB HD, and SATA lightscribe DVD-RW.

So, what I want to do is take this hardware and make a secondary gaming computer, and I plan to overclock the snot out of that e6300. My problem is that I have never owned a Core 2 so am rather unfamiliar with what boards are good for overclocking. I have read a few different tech articles and such but I would like to get some direct feedback. I'm looking for suggestions on what would be the best mobo to get to overclock this e6300 to it's full potential, and am also open to any tips and advice in general. Thanks in advance.

Anything cheap and using the P35,43 and 45 chipset should do.

So are boards equipped with nVidia chipsets the only boards that support sli? If so, that is quite a downer because I was hoping to link two 8800 GTXs

any nforce 680i will do, as only later motherboards (P55, and later) officially have SLI support. You can find hacked drivers that enabled SLI on earlier chipsets, although not very well from what I've read.
