Default Perfect Case - 11-04-2009, 03:58 | posts: 35 | User is Offline

Hello lads,

I am looking for an ATX case wich has the following features:

* Good Airflow
* Prefer mid-tower
* Budget around 90-100 pounds
* Enough cooling possibilites
* Room for high end graphic cards
* No too much mesh (its not a ''dust''bin)
* Dustfilters (if needed)
* Not too heavy, Going to LANS often

If u know a good case and it doenst pass my demands please post it aswell so i can see what are the pros and the cons

Thnx in advance

I'm looking for a case as well

Deciding which Full tower to get
Antec 1200
Corsair Obsidian 800D
Cooler Master HAF932

Anymore suggestion?

Prefer Antec 1200 atm because of the easy cleanable dust filter.

I have got an Antec 1200, though I haven't built my PC yet I've played around with the case and some components, it seems to have good airflow

+1 for the HAF922, outstanding airflow, plenty of room for everythig, cable management quite good too, looks so nice and superb quality. I forgot, price/quality one of the best for sure.

I have a HAF922 and it's perfect in every other aspect EXCEPT...

... dust. Yes, the case is a dust-magnet if I've ever seen one, and it doesn't come with filters, so if you're in a dusty environment, you may want to opt for the Antec 1200 which is the closest alternative, really. The Antec 902 is smaller, so if airflow is a priority, then keep in mind that the case will get packed pretty quickly. Hence, I'd go for a full-tower 1200 if dust was a concern.

That said, everything else about the 922 rocks my socks!

an Antec 1200 is a bit too big and too expensive
I Really prefer a good Mid tower case that has it all.

You can't really have both. With higher airflow you will have more dust. The panty hose mod works for fans larger than 140mm. You can also get aftermarket filters for the fans 140mm and smaller if they don't come with the case.

The 902 and 932 are very nice choices.

I own the 901 Antec.. i'd give my left arm for a case with dustfilters .. this one collects a layer of dust 1mm thick on the front intake mesh in less than a week or so.

But i very much like the airflow/coolor and general size/sturdiness of the case.. also if your a case is standing on the floor besides you its a big plus that buttons pwr/reset + the other ports are on top of the case.. no more fiddling down on the bottom front of the case halfway falling off your chair to start the pc also the big 200mm fan on the top gives lot better exhaust than most cases.. that usually have exhaust on the back (hiding agaisnt a wall or mess of cables).. ofc theres also the 80mm back outtake fan.

and the bottom mounted PSU also helps with cable management in my view.. extra cables can be bundled nicely in the bottom.. and theres no great mess of wires hanging above the cpu cooler obstructing airflow there.

Also i love my little tray at the top of the case aswell i have my cellphone and ipod nano there.. both recharging via their small 30cm cables hooked into the 2 front usb ports very convenient.

I bought my Antec 900 case for around $100, and am pretty sure you can find them now at Best Buy for like 60-80USD.

I bought my Black pearl case for $100 on newegg, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. So if you can find it for cheap, I'd say go for that. Or a thermaltake case.
