Perfect. I made nearly the same PC for my friend. I replaced the stock Heatsink with a 955 BE HS and overclocked it to 3.6 GHZ on air. He's using the onboard graphics from the gigabyte board. you're looking at 250 - 300 USD.

those 720's rock.

At first when i read the topic my thought was to reply "Give her husband v2.0 " :p

But yeah

Right now theres a new AMD triple core out that performs very well..

AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.9GHz 1.5MB L2 0MB L3

Its a triple core 2.9ghz... with half the L2 cache of the bigger AMD Phenom II and no L3 cache.. this saves a lot on the complexity of the chip and cost. making it dirt cheap.. with a 1Ku price point at 89$ the BE 720 suggest above is also very decent.. albeit 33% more expensive.. 10-20% more performance in gaming (maybe your retailer is different). the 435 will run wow more than decent.

Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 .

A decent motherboard.. again quite cheap.. has all the features required for a nice midend gaming platform and workstation at home.

and the HD4890 1GB seems like a very good card atm.. for the midend section.

Yeah.. basically its the same as above.. with an alternative cheaper/weaker cpu.. and a actual mobo suggestion and you cant argue with a 4890 at the pricepoint its at atm..

But if you have the money you should def. pick the 720BE and gain the extra L2/L3 cache.. will speed up general OS usage.. and have a marginal impact on gaming aswell.

as for ram.. i'd pickup a 2x2GB set..

something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231300

IIRC, WoW is extremely CPU-bound, so you'll want something with more performance and CPU cache. An HD5750 or HD5770 would work nicely with this.

I'd rather he go with the HD5770.

As for AMD 770, get the M4A77TD, it's a great board and slap on like 4 GB of DDR3-1333 and you're good.

Cause she probably loves you.

So, OP, what will you be upgrading your wife to? Are you doing a full un-installation, driver sweep, and registry clean? Or will you be getting a service pack to upgrade her? Has she suffered driver degradation and poor performance? Or will you be doing a hardware upgrade? I would suggest an X2 platform, so that if one wont work, you can always utilize the other. And other times/most times you can utilize both at the same time.
