Default GPU scaling is not selectable with 9.10 driver - 10-30-2009, 05:21 | posts: 11 | Location: Canada | User is Offline

Since installing a 5870 I have not been able to select GPU scaling options, it's greyed out. I'm using a digital cable so it should be available to me as an option. Anyone else?

OK, thanks. Will try it later as I am on a different PC right now. Hope that is just a temporary solution though.

Same problem here, using a 3870-X2 card. I was using the scaling to retain aspect ratio under Vista 64-bit for a game not designed for wide screens.. Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 7, installed the latest Catalyst, and find that I can no longer access that feature in Catalyst. I don't know whether to blame Windows 7 or Catalyst, but suspect it's the latter. I've asked ATI for a solution, but don't suppose they will provide one.

(later) I saw the suggestion above about changing to a lower resolution, so tried 800sx600 and that made no difference. So the question remains: is it Windows, or is it Catalyst? If I get an answer from ATI/AMD, I'll update with any info.

change the desktop resolution to whatever resolution you plan to play the game at (generally a ressy lower than your lcd's native resolution), then reopen the CCC and the option should no longer be greyed out.

only really seems to be an issue with the newer drivers, i never had this issue with the older drivers and my 4670.
