Getting one of AMD's new Radeon HD 5000-series graphics cards? Then don't just expect your frame rates to increase. We've become aware of a puzzling, annoying, but otherwise harmless bug that seems to affect the entire Evergreen lineup.

Sometimes, out of the blue, the Windows mouse cursor doubles in size. No, we're not making this up: we actually observed the problem first-hand on an XFX Radeon HD 5770.

I got it. It just inflated as I was reading this, in fact. I'm aware of the pointer trails fix, but if you enable them, the cursor doesn't seem to work in a lot of games.

I'm using the 9.11 betas, but they are from before 9.10 was released and probably before they were really aware of the issue.

AMD response:

Yes this is a known issue, and seems to happen pretty infrequently, but that being said it is going to be fixed in Catalyst 9.11 next month.

It is making games with hardware cursors pretty hard to play though. Because the cursor keeps resizing in game, misclicks.
