Left 4 Dead 2

http://www.l4d.com/home.html
Quote:
Set in the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, the #1 co-op game of 2008.
This co-operative action horror FPS takes you and your friends through the cities, swamps and cemeteries of the Deep South, from Savannah to New Orleans across five expansive campaigns.
You’ll play as one of four new survivors armed with a wide and devastating array of classic and upgraded weapons. In addition to firearms, you’ll also get a chance to take out some aggression on infected with a variety of carnage-creating melee weapons, from chainsaws to axes and even the deadly frying pan.
You’ll be putting these weapons to the test against (or playing as in Versus) three horrific and formidable new Special Infected. You’ll also encounter five new “uncommon” common infected, including the terrifying Mudmen.
Helping to take L4D’s frantic, action-packed gameplay to the next level is AI Director 2.0. This improved Director has the ability to procedurally change the weather you’ll fight through and the pathways you’ll take, in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match your performance. L4D2 promises a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience every time the game is played, custom-fitted to your style of play.
Be sure to pick up a copy November 17th on Xbox 360 or Steam, and discover for yourself how much fun a zombie apocalypse can be:
- Next generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.
- Over 20 new weapons & items headlined by over 10 melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies
- New survivors. New story. New dialogue.
- Five expansive campaigns for co-operative, Versus and Survival game modes.
- An all new multiplayer mode.
- Uncommon common infected. Each of the five new campaigns contains at least one new "uncommon common" zombies which are exclusive to that campaign.
- AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D’s unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.
- Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play

Looks like L4D1 just with 4 different skins, a new mode, several new weapons and items, 4 new special infected, a few new campaigns and some uncommon common infected.
Since i summarized it into 2 lines, I can conclude that we have basically been fcuked over where we could have just paid for ( or be given for free ) a nice big DLC pack like valve promised...
Yes - im still touchy about it....

Skipping this one. I haven't played the original in over 3 months.
The trailer DOES look good, but it is still not a long term $50 game for me.

If Australia gets an uncensored version, Valve gets my moneys, probably from a four pack. Got (and still get) buckets of time/fun out of the first one.

The cinematic trailer is really well done IMO, you can really feel that it looks like one of these Z movies that come out every summer
I loved the bluesy version of the L4D music theme in the beginning. The characters lack a bit of charisma (Rochelle and the guy that looks like uncle phil are cool, but the two other lack a lot of charisma).
Overall it's a cool trailer...but I still won't buy the game until its at least at -25 or -50% of its price

so what? you have to pay for it lol. Im happy with what left 4 dead have done. Yes they could have done a hell of alot more but imo killing floor releasing updates and charging for them is not better than left 4 dead having not much updating at all.

Liking the look....been playing the original more recently.
Given that I have £30-35 freed up by the ****'s at IW/Activision, £20 (via the 4-pk) seems like a decent buy

Do they have a joint pay system on the 4pack ?
Something where one person sets up the deal, then another person agrees and once all four have agreed the sale goes through?

They cost 99 pence each and they are NOT an necessity. If you want new skins for whatever reason, buy 'em, if not, don't. Simple as.
L4D got boring after several weeks of the same **** over and over. KF at least lasted me 1+ month.

L4D is my favorite game right now...but it does have a few problems. They need a party system to make it easier to play with friends, ranked matches would be nice, and a few shorter campaigns that don't suck would be good too. Either way, DLC was free on PC (survival mode and crash course) so I don't think they did too bad as far as supporting the first game. CoD comes out with a new game every year, why are people getting mad when this game does?
