I'm going to have to go with that was a waste. I hope both the TV & PS3 were at the point where they couldn't be repaired before ruining them or had a logical reason to do it. Kinda like someone throwing away perfectly good food when there are starving people in the world.

It'd probably cost more to fake it than it would to just go rent the facility and do for real.

Seriously? People are calling this a waste? This entire ad probably cost Sony like HALF would it would take to run a real ad with the same public attention. And a $3000 Sony Bravia TV and $300 PS3 is not comparable to throwing away food.
I think it's a great ad.

Hell yeah, I wouldn't wanna get hit by a PS3, which is launched at 50mph It would most probably cause some serious injuries, since the force your going to get hit by with a PS3 @50mph is equal to around 700+ kg of weight.
Well, maybe I screwed up something in the text, but the main point is that getting hit by PS3 @ that speed would equal to a 700+ kilo thing falling on you Ugh, I'm quite terrible at physics, gotta use my videocard for all those physical calculations...
