Hi guys,
My gtx295 had been folding well for about a week but then i noticed that the second client was just stuck on "successfully sent data" or something like that. I tried loads of quickfixes to try and resolve the issue and get it to keep folding - like, installing a new client; adding all the forced commands etc to the end of the exe shortcut, deleting all the data in the client folder so it could start again etc - but nothing seems to work. Ill post the exact error from the log tonight when i get home but has anyone ever had a similar issue? I havent been able to fold for a few days now ( cause i dont just want to burn one core in the meantime ) and its driving me crazy... Thx in advance... |

It looks like you might have SLI enabled because it gives the UNSTABLE_MACHINE error instantly.

OK, Ill play and tweak a little in the Nvidia settings and see what i can do.
Could it be nHancer by any chance? Thats the only new program recently installed which ive used over the last few weeks. |

Do you need a second monitor or dummy plug like with the GX2 in order to get the second GPU to fold? Could that be your problem?

Nope, i have a DVI-HDMI cable running to my 42" on the second plug out which does the trick.
Just to clarify - Both clients WERE working hundreds for about a week. Something brought about this change... |

erm, have you tried to resetup the clients?
drivers? lower the shaders and see if it will fold, if it doesn means RMA your card |

Hmmm, ill redo everything again i guess. Card doesnt show any signs of failing in any other game or app so i doubt it needs an RMA.
Maybe ill try setting up the console client. |

Trying a different client may help, but if you were using the tray client than technically you can make all the setting changes you want to without forcing commands in the shortcut. Have you tried just using the config window to change all you settings? |

I reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers after a careful and very thorough manual and programmatic driver sweep in safe mode etc.
I am happy to say that this seems to have worked!  Thanks for all the help and suggestions... Im now back to running on both Cores with my OC'd 295 when im at work/overnight ; and i have the PS3 folding 24/7 too. Is there a quick way to calculate my PPD??? Like a guru app or something? |
