Tut: Using ReadyDriver Plus on Windows 7 (x86/x64)

Well guys.
I want to share this little guide with all of you.

It will become very handy at the time of installing unsigned drivers on Windows Vista/7.
Drivers like the one that KillerSneak mod or AtiTool driver.

1- Preparing Windows 7 (This is ONLY for 7)

A. Right click "Computer" and in the menu click "Manage"

B. In "Computer Management" go to "Disk Management"

C. There, will be all your Disks and Partitions. There is one called "System Reserved" Right Click it. And click on "Change Driver letter and Paths..."

Side Note: If you don't have "System Reserved", install ReadyDriver Plus on C:\ or wherever is your "BOOT" folder.

D. A windows will pop up. Press "Add...". There, click the menu from the right. There should be a a lot of letters.

F. Click the "Z" letter and press "OK". Now, that partition should be on "Computer"

We are done with this.

Installing ReadyDriver Plus.

1- Download ReadyDriver Plus if you don't have it.

2. Once you have it downloaded, open it. Follow the instructions.

3. When you reach the part that ask you where to install it. Install it on: "Z:\Boot" (On Vista, leave this alone, it should install on "C:\")

4. Continue with the instructions. Once done and installed, restart Windows. If everything is correct you will see the Windows Bootloader running by its own. Don't touch anything and it will start with the "Disable driver signature enforcement" option.

And, there ya go. Everything should be smooth.

PS: If you want to hide the "Z" parition. Just go to "Computer Management" again, right click the "Z" partition, click on "Change Driver letter and Paths..." and remove the "Z" letter.

NP, and an extra note, ReadyDriverPlus is only needed for x64 systems

As they don't allow modded / non WHQL drivers. x32 doesn't have this issue.

Are you sure?
Be cause in "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider" (a NGOHQ app) states this:

Im using GRUB2 boot loader insteed of the default one, is that a problem ?

Readydriver plus its pointless for 99% (100%?) in x86 systems, since you dont need signed drivers xP.

oh and from my experience GRUB was a problem, because the readydriver plus macro-at-boot will go up into grub and not into windows boot.

Best way its windows booter as main and grub as sub

I really don't know.
I don't use GRUB2 or any other bootloader than the Windows defaults one nor i do dual boot.
Try what Black Ice suggested.

I don't know about the RTM version, but in the RC builds driver signature enforcement can be disabled using Group Policy editor...

Nm it doesn't seem to work properly.

Don't use it with GRUB:

Known Issues:
~ RDP Does not work with GRUB, there seems to be no current fix for this yet.
~ GUI boot causes some issues, Disabling GUI boot may fix the issue.
~ Un-installation can be found in the control panel, or EasyBCD can also remove RDP.

Well I disabled the driver signature enforcement through the Group Policy editor in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and it works. I have installed the enzyme ver 0.3 drivers, no problems. These drivers rock by the way

Here's how you do it:

I think it depends on which build you use. Works in some, doesn't work in others..

I'm on 7600.16385 (a.k.a RTM) and that doesn't works.

I've tried using Test mode but it doesn't seem to work. (RC build 7127).

Also the Disable OS integrity checks command doesn't seem to work either, well hit and miss at best.

I have a feeling it may be to with SFC running at startup...so it may need to be disabled using GPEDIT..

I did however, use Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider to digitally sign some modded drivers I have, and that has worked.

In that case, it's NOT recommended to use this tool

I can't find the "system reserver" in my windows 7. There are no hidden disks or partions there.. So how can I then use readydriverplus?
