Default Configure Fan Speeds - 10-04-2009, 12:34 | posts: 2

I have a custom built computer based on the MSI K9n2 Diamond MB. I installed a BFG GeForce 9800 GT and have noticed that the default fan speed is 37% at idle and temp at idle is 60 C.

I've been looking for a utility to adjust the fan speed for my GPU and found the MSI AfterBurner.

I'm not really into overclocking at this time, but would really like to increase my GPU fan speed.

I installed AfterBurner (my card is supported) and checked out the program, which is very nice, but am not sure about how to properly adjust the fan speed.

Didn't see any help file, so could someone please explain how to adjust the fan speed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just slide over the fader at the bottom that says fan speed. put it at 80 or 100% and click save. You are all good. Or use evga. Dont you know how to slide over a green fan speed bar? You just right click on your mouse where the fan speed is, hold it down and drag across your monitor to 100%. It's like getting drunk.. really easy

Yep, I know how to move a slider "L", maybe I should have been more specific.

Under the "User Define"... "Automatic Fan Control Properties" is it necessary to change the graph point settings?

I noticed that the "Auto" button needs to be clicked "off" before the slider can be moved and if "User Define" is clicked it defaults to the settings on the graph.

...and thanks for the reply

Welcome to Guru3D, gbread49.

As you already found out yourself you have to select "User Define" next to the fan speed slider in order to activate a custom fan profile.

Then click on "Settings" all the way at the bottom and select the "fan" tab in the window that opens next ("MSI Afterburner properties"). Check the "Enable user defined software automatic fan control" box. Now you can change the settings on the graph to anything that you want to:
