Default TV out & VGA monitor at the same time on V3 possible?? - 06-20-2002, 17:22 | posts: n/a

Yes,Guys,I I´m trying to watch Divs movies on a Voodoo 3 3000,but When I choose Tv output, the Vga monitor goes black. It dificults me because My Tv is on the Living room and the Computer on my bedroom..
Is there a way to make both outputs to function at the same time??

thanks folks...

It impossible cause voodoo3 only have one ramdac and use it for both output. One ramdac can only display for one output at one time, not both.

(ramdac = random access memory digital analog converter) used to change the digital signal processed by graphics card to analog signal used by monitor/tv.

To be able to have both outputs at the same time,Its necessary to have 2 Hamdacs??
I have an MSI Geforce 2 MX400,that I can have both outputs, but on its specifications,it´s not mentioned that the card has two ramdacs...

A certain gf2mx cards which has dual display (they call it nView) have 2 ramdac. You can check them better at nVidia website. Another option for a dual display cards were Matrox G450 (they're the pioneer of dual display cards) or ATi radeon7xxx/8xxx series.
