I guess, they either know something about Hydra we don't know (that it's actually working) or this is just marketing hype.

Am I the only one who avoids MSI like they're AIDS? After I had about 20 video cards die and/or had lemons sent to me in a row by MSI I haven't bought any of their products since. To get anything done I had to go in person to their "RMA" facility which was literally a 3 meter wide room that went back for about 10 meters. The entire area was stacked quite literally to the ceiling with dead motherboards and video cards. I wish I had a camera on me at the time to take a picture.
In other words they don't have a real RMA factory here.

No kidding, my friend. Have you been to the Sapphire office(rma) by any chance. It's at Woodbine & hwy7. I was rma-ing my 4870 and they still had posters of radeon 7000 series. at least they rma-ed my card even tho i killed it.
I think MSI just couldn't complete in the market with giga & asus for the last 4 years. They seem to fight back now.

The MSI RMA office in my country is a small office with testing facility - the distributor office, Corbell Technology.
I've had two MSI 790GX Platinums DoA before I finally got my functional one that I'm on now.
So I'm not as impressed with MSI's reliability as I would've hoped.
Anyway, the Big Bang is a lot like a P55-GD80 from what I know, but has the Lucid Hydra onboard and it works, apparently.
I'm not sure of all the details, but it's going to be quite the enthusiast board.

I'm betting it works 100% and works well. Doesn't make sense for a company like msi to market and sell a board that doesn't.
There will be upgrades to come with dx11 support and more pci-e lanes.

my MSI mainboard (which sucks due to lack of everithing in the bios) is pretty stable. Never had stability issues and cost only 59€

Used to own a MSI mb and it was stable and served me well , Hydra is really something that we needed for years..I mean you could throw your "old" one year card in the mix with the new guns instead of selling it for 40% of what you actually paid .

I hope its as good as they say, because using Hydra means that you are not going to use Nvidia or Ati Drivers, instead you will use a Special output, Soo if Hydra sucks for games in compatibility or graphics it will be quite disapointing. with Hydra you can have Raw power, but it will have all the options and features that Ati Or Nvidia brings to us?

Umm... I thought it just combines the two outputs you get from the GPUs. GPUs do the rendering and the hydra chip just combines them. So in theory it only has to understand AMD and Nvidia cards

What?
GPU's will still need drivers to work, and their core functionality will come through the drivers, that will never change. Hydra has nothing to do with replacing drivers.
Me thinks you need to read up on what Hydra actually does... raw power? huh?

Lets see, If you combine an ATi card and a Nvidia Card. How you can run a game and tell the game that you will use ATI and NVidia drivers at the same time? the cards will need drivers, but Hydra will be on top of them controling those drivers, soo if you start a game you will see Hydra as Graphic card. soo now. If Hydra compatibility is not good. it will end up like a Larrabe. a piece of useless raw power.
Its obvious that Ati and Nvidia Cards are diferent. soo If you can mix them it meanst that they create a Bridge and a Controler to Join the forces. its like making Work a group of Chinese with a group of Americans. they need someone that speaks both languages. the thing is than that person will be the leader and it will control both groups. Soo Hydra will have its own Drivers and games will go trough those drivers.

If we want to be specific, then, theres been no mention of what happens when we try an open gl game. I would have thought if every current game (dx9,dx10, opengl) worked then they'd have made that clear?
I think opengl games will work, but, only when Hydra is turned off (i.e. doesn't benefit from Hydra).

Hydra decomposes data it recieves from your drivers which in turn have recieved data from the game itself.
Then it dynamically allocates the fragments of the scene to each graphics card so that the load is according to the power of each graphics card so everything is balanced.
It runs concurrently with your standard Catalyst or ForceWare drivers. Theoretically the system could allow for ~100% scaling and previous exhibits have done so.
The problem is that you cannot run nVIDIA with ATi cards in the future because nVIDIA intends to disable functionality when Catalyst drivers are detected.

Was it the videocard industry they dropped out of? I thought it was MSI, maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
