Putting a system in my car.. some suggestions please -

Heres the deal, I ran into a little bit of money and i'd like to put a system in my car. Actually im almost done, but i need an amp.
I have 2 rockford fosgate rfp2812 12" subs, with box (i bought for 300 canadian - i payed over 2 months) and i just bought a sony mp30 mp3 cd player (nice stuff) but now i need an amp. I dont know the max wattage of the subs, but the rfz2812 (12")max at 200w, rms at 100. Im thinking the same for the ones i have.
Now do i need a 400w amp, which rms' at 200, then is that split between the 2 subs, giving 100w each? Or is it 400w (200w rms) per channel (depending on the amp of course). I dont want to be deafeningly loud, thats kinda dumb when its that excessive, so i dont need a huge amp... I also have to pick up a set of 6x6's but Im not sure which make yet
suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds nice i used to be into this **** but then i looked at my slice of**** I drive and said what the hell can i put in that?
then i got laid off and haven't looked at anyting
But ya i'm guessing a dual channel amp maybe even a 4 channel that way you can pipe the other 2 to your 6x6's as long as they can handle it that's just guesswork don't go by what i say talk to a local stereo shop guy, and not any guy either, find a young guy and not the old fart that owns the joint 'casue he'll try and rape ya for somethign ya don't need.
i'm a pc guy that's why i find the young guy to talk to.

When i was at future shop the other day browsing i asked the guy what amp he recommended, and he quickly pointed at the $800 amp that puts out like 1200 watts, a bit much for me i said, then he pointed at a $400 amp..
Would you recommend any brands for the 6x6s or amp? I really havent even begun seriously looking yet cause the cd player almost wiped me clean. The cd player i bought puts out 52w to all 4 channels, is that total or RMS (it doesnt say in the manual), if its rms i dont even think i'd need a seperate amp for the 6x6s right?
Thx for your help.

ooooh, interesting thread
aaam, i'm not sure what these guy have been feeding you, spam
i put one in my car almost, i just gotta wire it now,
i did lots of research.
aam, the amp is 400 which means its 200 rms mono bridges probably,
if you divide it it will be 100 rms per sub, which is probaly 2 ohm, i'd suggest 4 ohm for better thump
i have 225 max 2 subs, they can run at 125 - 150 rms, so i got a 600 watt kenwood amp with
make sure you get the *thinking of the word*
high- low cross over i think you call it.
or else its just a speaker amp, and its no good for filtering out the treble and having pure bass.
whatever you do, don't listen to the b.s. futureshop tells you, go to a&b sound, they're better
