Default Lock resolution + center image? - 06-18-2009, 16:39 | posts: 1 | Location: Sweden

Hi!

I've tried the search function without luck. This may not be the right place for this question, but I figured that maybe ATT has a setting somewhere (not that I've found).

I just got my new 19" wide LCD monitor, and I like the resolution (1440x900). However, many of the games I play are old running at 800x600 and lower.
What I'd like to do is that whenever an application attempts to change the screen resolution, it should receive a successful response, but without the actual change. Instead, the image should be drawn centered in my locked 1400x900, no matter if it's smaller or larger than that - if smaller, with a black border around it. (If small enough, it could even be multiplied in both axis as long as it stays sharp.)

Is there any setting (anywhere) for this?.. or an application?.. or even possible at all? I have this built-in (-to the monitor) function that displays 4:3 properly, but using the full height of the screen, meaning that the image still isn't sharp (stretched over pixels).

I'm thinking that this kind of trick could be done by just an app like ATT.

Thanks for reading;
