my cousin has a 8600gt which one day all of a sudden decided to not to show anything on the screen.... and still today when u plug it on it doesn't show anything on the monitor... so if i decide to repair it like this how would do it?? i have a micro oven ..... (really weird!!) or is there any other way??

You do know what will happen when you put metal in microwave oven?

sorry to resurrect this thread, but i just did this procedure to my 8800gtx.
had nothing to loose since i couldnt RMA the thing, and it woudnt post at all.

it works now!!! i just hope it stays this way. gonna try and see if i can make physx work now

Reflowing.. I've been doing something similar on various hardware over the years.
Mainly it's been game consoles Megadrive, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, but I've done the odd laptop mobo and pc mobo and yes even my ol' Nvidia Geforce MX440 and my 8800GTS 320MB video card with a 1800w heat gun.
Do multiple short close bursts on the main chips, let cool , do it again, etc
Basically heat each chip until it's at the point that if I touch the chip you can hear my finger sizzle the instant I touch.. that's right temp..lol
Not always a success, but a cheap heat gun has saved me many $$$$'s over the years.
