Default Emulators....bleh - 05-30-2009, 07:10 | posts: 4,312 | Location: New York

I have just started to mess with the Dolphin emulator so I can enjoy the metroid prime games and twilight princess on my PC.

What a damn joke the emulator is.

Metroid prime at under 10fps? ha

Zelda and Mario games with no sound,Understandable as the tracks are made of small effects using 2 diff micro code.

Even the games listed as 100 percent working fail for me and at the right settings.

Metroid prime 2 I can not scan anyhting and my windows gives me an error saying it needs to shut down programs due to low memory??? that one blew me away cause I have never had that issue on any of my PC builds before.

Guess it is just SNES and Genesis emulators for me.

Ever since I got my 360 pad and hooked it up to the PC I want to play console like games lol, burnout paradise is crazy fun.

I've never really gotten any emulators to work well except for the SNES, NES, GB, GBA etc. Project64 works for the most part, but the analog stick or whatever is still buggy. All the Playstation, GC and Wii emulators are total messes.

If you check around in the dolphin forums, people mention that specific builds work better in some games such as metroid prime.

well, im a dolphin user, and all games that i have runs great, zelda doesnt have sound, but runs perfect, i finished super smas brothers melee, Resident evil REmake, and now im playing paper mario the thousand year door with minors problems (some effect missing), but its VERY playable, and pcsx2 is another great emulator, i finished (again) FFX, god of war 1 & 2, RE code veronica x, and actually playing persona 3 fes, all of them runs perfect at perfect speed

you must understand that emulation is a very complex work, if the console is complex more complex would be the process to emulate it, i know that much games dont work or have mayor problems, but that's normal, they improve the compatibility everyday (and sometimes the performance too)

WhiteLightning what version do u have (ntsc or pal), 'cuase that matters, normally the ntsc runs better than pal's but sometimes is the opposite, AFAIK in GOW the ntsc games runs betters, you must donwload the latest svn rev (if you know how compile it, much better), same for the rest of the plugins especially gdsx and use the sse4 version (your cpu supports it)

with that config the game runs 50-60 fps all the time (and my pc isnt very powerfull i have the e8400 @ stock) same for the 9600gt (im wating the cpu and gpu coolers to overclock), in your pc must run better

I have a problem with Dolphin, actually, of all the games running TOO fast. I suppose they're limited to 30FPS on the gamecube, but for me they run at 60 which is just unplayably fast, everything is sped up.

that's weird, i doubt that it is for the pal version, waht gsdx version do u have?, try deleting the .ini, and download the latest version (or compile the latest revision)

btw, heard that gsdx doesnt work well with ati cards, but with new drivers and new version that not should happen
