Smile New ATI Windows 7 WHQL cert. Drivers ver 8.612!!! - 05-05-2009, 23:58 | posts: 1 | User is Offline

Hi,

Version of the driver is 8.612 dated to 28th of april.

I got a tweet that ATI got their new drivers WHQLed.

The new drivers available for both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows 7.
Seems Like an old version... I'm confused...

Download them at ATI's web site:

ATI Catalyst 8.612 WHQL Windows 7 (64-bit)
ATI Catalyst 8.612 WHQL Windows 7 (32-bit)

Enjoy!

Updates:
Installing now 64bit...
Driver seems to be unWHQLed.... installer asked to install unsigned driver...
Manually installing avivo64.exe package results in an error but works rather strange (25% Gpu load...)

if you install catalist 9.4 , you will have to manually install/update the drivers from the device manager. they work perfectly.
i just dunno why the setup didnt install them though.

Compared to the screenshot posted by Shinshin, in my case there is no mention of 9.03. Perhaps AMD changed something meantime.
Performance-wise it's the same as the leaked 8.61.1 beta.

I'm currently running the 9.4's, I guess there is no point in downgrading just for the WHQL logo.

first i removed all ati programs and drivers from my system then installed sucessfully without any problems - the unsigned driver is the hdmi driver not the display driver - and it did not show catalyst version in CCC , here is a picture

will try some games and report later ,but does this mean that there is no catalyst 9.5 for windows 7 or what ???

No it has ,the HDMI driver in the same release is not WHQL so when it give you the warning of unsigned driver it is the HDMI one

You'll have to pardon me (no throwing rotten vegetables at me etc) but I've wandered over here from the Nvidia side of things...what is "DNA-fy"ing?

Driver works great in Vista x64. Newer CCC and OpenGL driver then 8.610.

Maybe someone can test OpenGL games, see if anything has been fixed.
