No, but you won't see constant file transfers between your HDD and your ram..read:HDD thrashing....Loads most used apps into ram for quicker loading..that's all.
If you open a game etc that needs the ram used by cached files, cached data is swapped to HDD then back to ram again when you have free memory.
This is why a few people say/think their rigs are using ridiculous amounts of ram - when what they are actually seeing are just files cached by SF...

Codes don't check for the paging file, never seen that ever, paging is something that is up to windows, not the application.
If app's do some form of paging control, they got their own way to handle it, like SQL servers etc.
I played some COD Black Ops (retail not steam version), not issues without a paging file, so must be something else that maybe gives a memory leak on that system.

I dunno really.
"Theory" says:
Less HDD traffic = better. Thus, no page file, less HDD traffic.
Also, data stored on faster memory = better. Thus, data stored on ram instead of HDD = better.
But i dunno exactly how the SO works so, i have no idea if the impact is as positive and direct as that.
For me, it gives me an excuse to use the 6Gb of ram that i have lol. I barely use more than 3Gb.

In your address bar type about:config and in the settings page type cache.
Look for browser.cache.disk.capacity, I think if you set it to 0 instead of the default 256 it will work...not 100% sure tho...

One hell of a long/old thread lawl, well I've tried mine on and off, Personally I've "Seen" No difference, but it's gotta be there, I just don't like the fact that I can't play hl2 or CoH's with out pf. Although it sounds "Cool" For me to say that I run without pf I don't really think it's worth it (Other than long time use on your hdd)

I am trying to install CoH right now and got an error, was it because I don't use page file? wow never would of thunk it if that is true.
Oh I have meant to say I am part of this club for some time. Two systems no page file HTPC with 8gbs of ram and sig rig with 12
