RV790 will supposedly continue to use 800 shaders, but with architectural improvements, allowing it to compete with GTX28x and it is of course expected to be competively priced.

Hmm if it can keep up with the GTX285 with 800sps then thats fine with me.

interesting read..it's good to see that they are working on better architecture then just bumping the shaders or bumping the ram and core frequency..

A quick calculation gives me 16 shaders per texture unit and 50 texture units in total instead of the 20 shaders/40tu's that the 770 has at the moment. Or they'll go with 25 shaders and 32 texture units...I haven't got a clue which would be more efficient to be honest.
