Question Default Heatsinks on cards covering adjacent PCI slot - 02-19-2009, 04:31 | posts: 1 | Location: PA

Already got burned by Sparkle 8400GS PCI...the heatsink is much larger than appears on the side profile photo. Completely blocked the PCI port next to it (motherboard is Biostar TForce 550). I was wondering if others had this problem with heatsinks on their PCI GPUs covering adjacent slots?

I'm considering getting the 9400GT from newegg. Here's 9400GT pictures. Heatsink definitely juts out a little bit but it appears more flush than the 8400GS.

Otherwise, there are some fan-cooled other 8400GS PCIs from EVGA and PNY that I was going to try out. The fans look completely flush with the width of the mounting bracket.
