Question Silly question - 02-12-2009, 05:40 | posts: 23 | Location: New York

Hi,

I'm fairly new to Rivatuner so apologies if this is a daft question.
I've read the guides how to set up thresholds for GPU temperature and fan speeds. I've set up various temps and fan speeds and am very happy with my setup.

I have reached a nice overclock (17%) and my fan speeds work great. The questions is ............

How do I only overclock when using Performance 3D ? I seem to be overclocking all the time and it seems a bit daft to do so if I'm just browsing the web.

Many thanks,

Tim

Default One last question ........ - 02-18-2009, 11:01 | posts: 23 | Location: New York

My setup now overclocks nicely upon a hardware threshold monitoring event.
If it's 0.5 upward I use my overclock profile (3D) and if it's 0.5 downward I use my Stock profile (2D).

This works well for most situations but for some reason Crysis does not recognize the 3D overclock and stays put at Stock. I have created a launcher for Crysis with overclock and put a shortcut on the desktop. When I launch it I get my overclock but upon exiting it still stays overclocked.

What can I do ?

Thanks !!!

Statistics server doesn't support/detect native 64-bit applications.

Thanks for the reply. Are there any plans for the statistics server to support 64 bit native ?

In the meantime I have written a batch file instead. For anyone who is interested .....

It launches Crysis with an overclocked profile and tests every 5 seconds if Crysis is still running. If not the stock clock profile is applied. The script below has been tested and works fine.

What you need to do is

- Create a Standard clock profile and an Overclock profile in Rivatuner
- Create a Launcher item for the BIN64\Crysis.exe (using the overclock profile) and a Launcher item for Standard clock
- Place shortcuts for the above Launcher items on desktop (right click item in Rivatuner and you will see a menu option to send to desktop). This is so we can get the correct command lines to launch the item.
- Create an empty file called runcrysis.bat in your game folder (I use notepad) and paste the following text into it. Make sure the file is called runcrysis.bat and that there is no .txt at the end
@ECHO off

"D:\Utils\RivaTuner v2.22\RivaTuner.exe" /L:499bdb9a

:BEGIN

sleep 5 > nul

tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq crysis64.exe" /FO LIST > result.txt
FINDSTR /C:"INFO: No tasks are running which match the specified criteria." result.txt

IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO BEGIN ELSE

"D:\Utils\RivaTuner v2.22\RivaTuner.exe" /L:49951d3e

- You will have to substitute my Rivatuner commands for the ones you have created (open up the shortcuts from step 3). The first Rivatuner command at the top of the batch file is the one to launch Crysis and the one at the end is to launch the standard clock.
- Grab sleep.exe from http://www.sleepcmd.com/ and place it in the same directory as runcrysis.bat
- Place a shortcut to runcrysis.bat on your desktop. Personally I changed the icon to point to the crysis.exe file so it looks nice and make the shortcut run minimized so you don't see a DOS window pop up.

If anyone wants to try this and has problems I'm happy to help.

Tim
